CCI 22 LR Shotshell #12 – Reliable Pest Control Snake Shot, 31gr, 1000 fps, 20 Rounds

Description

The CCI 22 LR Shotshell #12 load lets you use the most common rimfire gun in America like a miniature shotgun. Each cartridge carries 1/15 ounce (31 grains) of fine #12 lead shot in a capsule, pushed at a rated 1000 feet per second by consistent propellant and reliable CCI priming. The result is a predictable pattern at very close range, ideal for snakes, rats, mice and other small pests in barns, sheds, gardens and around the campsite.

Why Choose the CCI 22 LR Shotshell #12

• 1/15 oz (31 grains) of #12 shot
• Rated 1000 fps muzzle velocity
• Consistent, predictable close-range patterns
• Reliable CCI rimfire priming
• 20 rounds per box, CCI 0039

Built for Close-Range Pest Control

• Easier hits on small, fast-moving pests
• Fine shot loses energy quickly, limiting travel
• Works in .22 LR revolvers, single-shots and bolt-actions
• Handy for barns, sheds, shops and campsites

Shot capsules leave plastic residue and fine lead fouling in the bore, so clean your barrel after shooting shotshells and before switching back to standard bullets. Keep shotshells in a separate, clearly marked box so they never get mixed with regular .22 ammunition.

Patterns vary from gun to gun, so test a few rounds on paper at 5 and 10 feet to learn where your firearm places its shot. Smooth-bore .22 rifles, sometimes called garden guns, give the tightest patterns, while rifled barrels spread shot faster.

CCI has built rimfire ammunition in Lewiston, Idaho for decades and is known for consistent quality. Store this box in a cool, dry place to protect the plastic capsules.

Many people keep a .22 revolver loaded with a few shotshells for chores around the property, giving them a quick close-range pest option without reaching for a larger shotgun. If you mix shotshells and standard rounds in one cylinder, know the order and practice with both so you understand how each one shoots.

The 20-round box is small enough to fit in a truck console, tackle box or backpack. Remember that this load is intended for small pests only; for larger animals or longer distances, a standard .22 LR bullet is the better choice.

Always handle any loaded firearm with care, even when it holds shotshells, and keep it pointed in a safe direction.

Using 22 LR Snake Shot Effectively

A single .22 bullet is hard to place on a small snake or a rat darting along a wall. This 22 lr snake shot spreads a cloud of tiny pellets, giving you a far better chance of a quick hit. It works best inside about 10 feet, where the pattern is dense enough to be effective.

Because the pellets are so small and light, they lose energy quickly compared with a solid bullet, which makes rat shot 22 loads a popular choice around homes and outbuildings. You still need a safe backstop and eye protection, since pellets can bounce off concrete, stone and metal.

Shot capsules usually will not cycle semi-automatic .22 rifles and pistols, so expect to work the action by hand. Revolvers, single-shots and bolt-action rifles are the easiest platforms for a 22 lr shotshell.

Farmers, homeowners, hikers and campers who need a simple close-range pest solution will get dependable performance from this 20-round box. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for .22 LR, wear eye protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
