CCI 22 WMR Shotshell #12 – Reliable Pest Control Snake Shot, 1/8 oz, 1000 fps, 20 Rounds

Description

The CCI 22 WMR Shotshell #12 load lets you use your favorite .22 Magnum rifle, revolver or pistol like a small shotgun. Each cartridge holds 1/8 ounce (about 52 grains) of fine #12 lead shot inside a capsule, pushed at a rated 1000 feet per second by consistent propellant and reliable CCI priming. The result is a tight, predictable pattern at close range, ideal for snakes, rats, mice and other pests around the barn, garden, shop or campsite.

Why Choose the CCI 22 WMR Shotshell #12

• 1/8 oz (52 grains) of #12 shot
• Rated 1000 fps muzzle velocity
• Consistent, predictable close-range patterns
• Reliable CCI rimfire priming
• 20 rounds per box, CCI 0025

Built for Close-Range Pest Control

• Easier hits on small, fast-moving pests
• Shot loses energy quickly, limiting travel distance
• Works in .22 Magnum rifles, revolvers and single-shots
• Handy for snakes around homes, barns and campsites

Shot capsules leave plastic residue and fine lead fouling in the bore, so clean your rifled barrel after shooting shotshells and before switching back to bullets for accuracy work. Keep this rimfire snake shot in a separate, clearly marked box so it never gets mixed with standard ammunition.

Patterns vary from gun to gun, so test a few rounds on paper at 5, 10 and 15 feet to learn where your firearm places its shot. CCI has built rimfire ammunition in Lewiston, Idaho for decades, and its shotshells are known for consistent patterns from box to box.

Many ranchers keep a revolver loaded with a couple of shotshells followed by standard rounds, giving them a close-range pest option and a solid bullet in the same cylinder. If you do this, make sure you know the order of the rounds and practice with both loads so you understand how each one shoots.

The 20-round box is compact enough to toss in a truck, tackle box or backpack. Store it in a cool, dry place, and keep it away from heat sources that can damage the plastic shot capsules over time.

Remember that shotshells are designed for small pests only. For larger animals such as coyotes or venomous snakes at longer distances, a standard bullet is a better choice.

Using 22 Mag Snake Shot Effectively

A single bullet is hard to place on a small snake or a rat darting across the floor. This 22 mag snake shot spreads a cloud of tiny pellets, so you get a much better chance of a quick hit at short distances. It is most effective inside about 10 to 15 feet, where the pattern is dense enough to do its job.

Rimfire snake shot is a good fit around homes and outbuildings because the small pellets shed energy quickly, reducing the distance they travel compared with a solid bullet. You still need a safe backstop and eye protection, since pellets can bounce off hard surfaces like concrete, rocks and metal.

Shotshell capsules usually will not cycle semi-automatic actions, so expect to work the action by hand. Revolvers, single-shots and bolt-action rifles are the easiest platforms for a 22 wmr shotshell.

Farmers, homeowners, hikers and campers who need a simple close-range pest solution will get dependable performance from this 20-round box. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for .22 WMR, wear eye protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
