Savage Axis 2 30-06 Springfield Left Hand Overview
The Axis 2 gives hunters better out-of-the-box performance at an affordable price, with improved ergonomics, a button-rifled threaded barrel, and Savage’s user-adjustable trigger. The 30-06 Springfield has taken every kind of North American big game for more than a century, and its wide range of bullet weights makes it one of the most versatile hunting cartridges ever made.
Barrel and Action
The 20-inch carbon steel barrel is precision button rifled for consistent accuracy, with a heavy sporter profile, a 1:10 twist matched to 30-06 bullets, and a threaded muzzle for a brake or suppressor where local law allows. An enhanced bolt handle design makes cycling quick and positive.
Stock and Fit
The OD Green synthetic stock has enhanced texturing and a contoured pistol grip with ambidextrous palm swells for a secure hold in any weather. Length of pull adapts from 12.75 to 13.75 inches with spacers, so you can fit the rifle to your build or heavy winter layers.
Optics Ready
Two-piece Weaver-style bases come installed, so mounting your favorite hunting scope is quick and simple.
User-Adjustable Trigger
Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set your own pull weight for a crisp, clean break with no creep. A light, predictable trigger makes a big difference when you are holding steady on a distant target, and the center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge.
Magazine and Handling
The 4-round detachable box magazine sits flush and makes loading and unloading quick and safe at the truck or the stand.
In the Field
Spend time at the range shooting from field positions such as sitting, kneeling, and off shooting sticks, and you will be ready when the moment comes. Pair the rifle with premium 30-06 Springfield ammunition, confirm your zero before each season, and you will have a dependable rifle that makes ethical, accurate shots.
Care and Cleaning
A little routine care keeps the Savage Axis 2 30-06 Springfield Left Hand running smoothly and shooting accurately for years. After each outing, wipe down exposed metal, run a few patches through the bore, and keep the bolt lightly lubricated. Store the rifle in a dry place, check that the action screws stay snug, and recheck your zero before each season.
