Trijicon Dual Defense Kit M17 FDE Tritium Superb Night-Ready Package

Description

The Trijicon Dual Defense Kit M17 FDE Tritium is Trijicon’s premium red dot package for SIG Sauer M17 and M18 commercial pistols: an FDE RMR Type 2 with a 3.25 MOA dot, a dedicated mounting plate, and tritium Bright and Tough suppressor height night sights that co-witness through the optic.

Trijicon Dual Defense Kit M17 FDE Tritium Overview

Trijicon part RM06-C-700816 bundles an RMR Type 2 adjustable LED sight with a 3.25 MOA red dot, a mounting plate for the SIG Sauer M17 and M18 commercial variants, and suppressor and optic height iron sights. The sights are engineered so the irons are visible through the RMR window, giving you a lower co-witness backup if the dot ever fails. Two sets of mounting screws, a seal plate, a hex wrench and a battery come in the box.

Why a Kit

Putting an RMR on a SIG M17 or M18 normally means buying the optic, a plate and taller sights separately, then making sure they all work together. The Dual Defense Kit removes the guesswork: the plate, sights and optic are designed as a system. That makes it an easy way to upgrade a commercial M17 or M18 to a duty-grade optic setup.

The Sights

This version uses Trijicon’s Bright and Tough night sights, with tritium lamps in both the front and rear sights and a high-visibility outline on the front, so the irons glow in the dark as a backup to the dot.

The Optic

The RMR Type 2 is one of the toughest pistol red dots ever made. Its forged aluminum body uses a patented shape to divert impact energy away from the lens. Push buttons control 8 brightness settings, including 2 for night vision, and an automatic mode. Trijicon rates the coin cell for over 4 years at setting 4 of 8. The RMR in this kit wears Flat Dark Earth to match the coyote finish of the M17 and FDE-framed M18 commercial pistols.

Fitment Notes

This kit is made for the SIG Sauer M17 and M18 commercial variants. It is not a universal P320 solution; other P320 slides have different optic cuts and sight dovetails. Confirm your pistol model before ordering, and have a qualified gunsmith install the sights if you are not equipped to drift dovetails.

Honest Considerations

Tritium sights add cost over the metal-sight kit, and tritium slowly dims over roughly a decade. Sight installation requires drifting the factory sights, which some owners leave to a gunsmith. The RMR battery is under the optic, so plan to remove and re-zero when replacing it.

Ordering and Transfer

When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.

Safe Storage

Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
