Bergara B-14 Cima Carbon .308 Win 16″ – Remarkable Lightweight Hunting Rifle

Description

The Bergara B-14 Cima Carbon is a featherweight bolt-action rifle chambered in .308 Winchester, built for hunters who climb, hike and still expect tight groups at distance. This configuration (Bergara model B14S1201CFSP, UPC 043125002887) combines a 16-inch CURE carbon fiber barrel, a Sniper Gray Cerakote action and a carbon fiber sporter stock for a rifle that weighs only about 5.5 pounds.

Bergara B-14 Cima Carbon Overview

Bergara built its reputation on barrels, and the B-14 action is the platform that put those barrels in reach of everyday hunters. The Bergara B-14 Cima Carbon takes that proven action and strips weight from every component that does not affect accuracy. The result is a compact .308 Winchester rifle that slides into a scabbard, rides on a pack frame and points quickly from a tree stand or ground blind.

CURE Carbon Fiber Barrel and Threaded Muzzle Brake

The 16-inch CURE carbon fiber barrel wraps a steel liner in carbon for stiffness and faster heat dissipation, so point of impact stays consistent through a string of shots. It uses a 1:10 twist that stabilizes common hunting bullets from 150 to 180 grains. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and ships with a muzzle brake, a practical setup for a short, light rifle where taming recoil matters. Remove the threaded muzzle brake and the same threads accept most .30 caliber suppressors.

Carbon Fiber Stock With SMC Mini Chassis

The RTM carbon fiber sporter stock is finished in black with gray sponge accents and houses Bergara’s SMC carbon mini chassis for a rigid, repeatable bedding surface. Length of pull is adjustable, so the rifle fits shooters wearing a light shirt in September or heavy layers in late November. Sling studs are installed for a carry strap or bipod.

Action, Trigger and Optics Mounting

The steel B-14 receiver is drilled and tapped, so it accepts standard Remington 700 short-action bases and one-piece rails. The Bergara curved trigger is adjustable and breaks around 3 pounds from the factory, and a two-position safety sits within easy reach of the thumb. Pair this lightweight hunting rifle with a compact 3-9x or 2-10x scope to keep the whole package well under 7 pounds.

Before You Buy

A rifle this light will recoil more than a heavier hunting rifle in the same chambering, even with the brake installed, and a muzzle brake is loud for the shooter and anyone nearby, so hearing protection is a must at the range. The short 16-inch carbon fiber barrel gives up some velocity compared with a 22-inch barrel, which slightly shortens maximum ethical range. No scope or rings are included, so budget for optics and a short-action base.

Who It Is For

The Bergara B-14 Cima Carbon suits elk and mule deer hunters in steep country, whitetail hunters who still-hunt or hang a stand far from the truck, and anyone who wants a handy, suppressor-ready rifle that does not feel like an anchor at the end of a long day.
