Description

The GForce Arms GFY-1 American Flag is a magazine fed bullpup 12 gauge finished in full colour red, white and blue. The receiver, forend and stock all carry the flag treatment, and the layout puts an 18.5 inch barrel into an overall length of only 28.5 inches.
Why a Bullpup Shotgun
Putting the action and the magazine well behind the trigger is what buys back the length. You keep the velocity and pattern of a full length barrel while handling a gun barely longer than a pistol-gripped home defense pump. The mass sits closer to your body too, which makes the shotgun easier to control one handed while you open a door or manage a light.
GForce Arms GFY-1 American Flag Features
The GFY-1 is gas operated and feeds from detachable box magazines. It accepts MKA-1919 pattern magazines, so spare sticks and drums are easy to find and inexpensive. Both 2 3/4 and 3 inch 12 gauge shells run through it, and a modified choke is included on the common Benelli Mobil thread pattern.
Flip-up iron sights sit on the full length top Picatinny rail. Fold them out of the way and there is plenty of room for a red dot or a reflex sight, which is how most owners set this gun up. A second Picatinny section underneath the forend takes a weapon light or a vertical grip, and a QD sling socket is built into the body.
Barrel, Choke and Ammunition
The action uses a rotating bolt driven by a gas piston, and it comes out for cleaning without tools once the stock panel is off. That access matters more on a bullpup than on a conventional gun, because the working parts sit inside the buttstock where fouling is easy to forget about until it causes a stoppage.
GForce recommends ammunition rated at 1400 feet per second or faster for the first 150 rounds while the gas system beds in. Buckshot and slug loads normally clear that mark without any special shopping. Light target loads are the usual cause of short stroking, so save them until the gun has some rounds through it.

Handling and Practical Range
At 28.5 inches overall the GFY-1 clears doorways and vehicle interiors that a 40 inch pump simply cannot. Buckshot stays useful out to roughly 25 yards through the modified tube, slugs extend that where the flip-up sights allow, and birdshot works fine for practice. Recoil is soft for a 12 gauge because the gas system and the eight pound weight absorb a good share of it.
Who Should Buy It
This is a home defense and range gun for a buyer who wants magazine fed capacity in a short package and does not mind being noticed at the range. Truck guns, boat guns and nightstand guns all suit the format, and swapping a magazine beats thumbing shells into a tube under stress.
Know the trade-offs before you commit. A bullpup places the ejection port near your face, so left handed shooters should handle one first. The trigger linkage is long and feels it, eight pounds is real weight, and gas guns want their break-in period respected.
