Description

Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 7mm PRC in black with 24 inch carbon fiber wrapped barrel, M-LOK carbon stock and adjustable cheek riser

The Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 7mm PRC is what happens when a chassis rifle feature set gets built into a traditional carbon fiber stock instead. It runs a 24 inch carbon fiber wrapped threaded barrel, an FFT carbon stock with a full-length M-LOK forearm and an adjustable cheek riser, and a 20 MOA Picatinny rail, and it starts at around 6.3 pounds with a sub-MOA guarantee.

Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 7mm PRC Barrel

The barrel is Christensen Aerograde carbon fiber wrapped over 416R stainless, button rifled, match chambered, and free floating. At 24 inches it gives 7mm PRC the room to produce its full velocity, which is the whole reason to choose that cartridge over a 7mm Rem Mag in the first place.

The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and wears a removable stainless RFR brake. On a rifle this light chambered in a magnum, the brake earns its keep, and it comes off cleanly when a suppressor goes on. Christensen builds the rifle suppressor-ready rather than treating it as an afterthought.

Stock, M-LOK Forearm, and Adjustability

The stock is where the MCR separates itself from the Ridgeline. It is FFT carbon fiber with a full-length M-LOK forearm, so bipods, hand stops, and lights mount anywhere along the front rather than on a single sling stud. There is an integrated forward Picatinny section as well, plus front and rear QD sling points.

Fit is adjustable in both directions that matter. The cheek riser adjusts by push button so you can line your eye up behind a large scope, and length of pull is set with spacers. The grip is an ergonomic hybrid shape that sits closer to vertical than a traditional sporter stock, which helps a great deal when shooting prone or off a bag.

Action and Trigger

The receiver is precision machined by Christensen Arms in a Remington 700 style with an enlarged ejection port and an improved bolt release. The bolt handle is skeletonized with an oversized knob. A 20 MOA Picatinny rail comes installed, which is what you want on a cartridge intended to reach out, since it buys back elevation travel inside the scope.

Feeding is from a three-round detachable magazine, and the trigger is an adjustable TriggerTech. Together with the bedded carbon stock and the match chambered barrel, that is the complete set of things that determine whether a rifle shoots to a guarantee.

Why Buyers Choose the Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 7mm PRC

It is the answer for people who want chassis rifle capability without chassis rifle weight or bulk. An M-LOK forearm, an adjustable comb, a 20 MOA rail, and QD sling points are all things you would otherwise buy a chassis to get, and a chassis in 7mm PRC typically weighs three pounds more than this rifle.

7mm PRC is the right cartridge for that mission. It delivers 7mm Remington Magnum performance from a modern, efficient, non-belted case built around long high-BC bullets, and it stays flat and lethal well past 700 yards without punishing barrel life the way the older magnums do.

Who Should Buy It

The Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 7mm PRC suits long range hunters who shoot from bipods and bags, western elk and mule deer hunters, and anyone who wants one rifle for hunting and for practical rifle matches. If you hunt thick timber at close range or want the lightest possible carry rifle, the Ridgeline FFT in the same chambering will be simpler and slightly lighter.
