Description

The Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 308 Win is the most practical chambering in the MCR line. It runs a 22 inch carbon fiber wrapped threaded barrel, an FFT carbon fiber stock with a full-length M-LOK forearm and a push-button adjustable cheek riser, a 20 MOA Picatinny rail, and it holds 4+1 with a written sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 308 Win Barrel and Muzzle
The barrel is Christensen Aerograde carbon fiber wrapped over a 416R stainless core, button rifled, match chambered, and free floating inside the forearm. Twenty-two inches is close to the ideal length for 308 Winchester. The cartridge burns its powder quickly, so a longer barrel adds very little velocity while adding length and weight you have to carry.
The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 with a removable stainless RFR brake. On 308 Winchester the brake is genuinely optional given how mild the recoil already is in this rifle, but it does keep the rifle flat enough to spot your own hits. It unthreads for a suppressor, which is where a 22 inch 308 really comes into its own.
M-LOK Forearm, Adjustability, and Fit
The full-length M-LOK forearm is the reason to choose the MCR over a traditional sporter stock. A bipod, a hand stop, a tripod clamp, or a light mounts anywhere along the front rather than at one fixed stud, and there is an integrated forward Picatinny section as well. Front and rear QD sling points come built in.
Fit adjusts in both useful directions. The cheek riser moves by push button so your eye sits correctly behind a large objective scope, and length of pull is set with spacers to suit your build or your clothing. The grip is an ergonomic hybrid shape, closer to vertical than a sporter grip, which helps significantly when shooting prone or off a rear bag.
Action, Rail, and Trigger
The receiver is Christensen Arms precision machined in a Remington 700 style with an enlarged ejection port, an improved bolt release, and a skeletonized bolt handle with an oversized knob. The 20 MOA Picatinny rail is installed from the factory, which saves both a part and the possibility of mounting it wrong.
Feeding is from a detachable magazine holding four rounds, and the trigger is an adjustable TriggerTech. The MCR line starts at around 6.3 pounds, which is genuinely light for a rifle with this much built-in adjustability.

Why Buyers Choose the Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 308 Win
308 Winchester is the sensible choice in a rifle like this. Ammunition is available everywhere in every configuration, from cheap practice loads to match and premium hunting bullets, and it costs a fraction of what the magnums do. Barrel life is excellent, recoil is mild, and the rifle is accurate enough to reward the practice that affordability makes possible.
The 22 inch barrel with threads is also the best suppressor host in the line. A 308 with a can is quiet, comfortable, and still short enough to carry, and the M-LOK forearm gives you somewhere to mount a bipod without a stud adapter.
Who Should Buy It
The Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 308 Win suits hunters who shoot from bipods and bags, suppressor owners, and anyone who wants a lightweight rifle they can afford to shoot regularly. It also works well as a first precision rifle since ammunition cost will not limit your trigger time. If you need reach past 800 yards or more energy on elk, the 6.5 PRC or 7mm PRC versions of this rifle will do considerably more at distance.
