Description

Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 6.5 PRC in black with 24 inch carbon fiber wrapped barrel, full length M-LOK carbon stock and adjustable cheek riser

The Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 6.5 PRC takes chassis-rifle capability and builds it into a carbon fiber stock instead of an aluminum chassis. It runs a 24 inch carbon fiber wrapped threaded barrel, an FFT carbon stock with a full-length M-LOK forearm and a push-button adjustable cheek riser, a 20 MOA Picatinny rail, and it holds 4+1 with a sub-MOA guarantee.

Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 6.5 PRC Barrel and Brake

The barrel is Christensen Aerograde carbon fiber wrapped over a 416R stainless core, button rifled, match chambered, and free floating. Twenty-four inches gives 6.5 PRC everything it needs, and the carbon wrap keeps that length from making the rifle nose-heavy while helping it shed heat between strings.

The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 with a removable stainless RFR brake fitted from the factory. 6.5 PRC does not recoil hard to begin with, and with the brake on a rifle this light you can genuinely watch your own impacts through the scope. Take the brake off and a suppressor threads straight on.

M-LOK Forearm and Fit Adjustment

The full-length M-LOK forearm is the defining feature. A bipod, a hand stop, a tripod clamp, or a light mounts anywhere along the front of the rifle rather than at a single stud position, and there is an integrated forward Picatinny section as well. Front and rear QD sling points are built in.

Fit adjusts where it matters. The cheek riser moves by push button so your eye lines up correctly behind a large objective scope, and length of pull is set with spacers. The grip is an ergonomic hybrid shape closer to vertical than a traditional sporter grip, which pays off when shooting prone or off a bag.

Action, Rail, and Trigger

The receiver is a Christensen Arms precision machined Remington 700 style design with an enlarged ejection port, an improved bolt release, and a skeletonized bolt handle with an oversized knob. A 20 MOA Picatinny rail comes installed, which buys back scope elevation travel for shooting at distance.

Feeding is from a detachable magazine holding four rounds, and the trigger is an adjustable TriggerTech. The whole rifle starts at around 6.3 pounds, which is remarkable for something with this much adjustability built in.

Why Buyers Choose the Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 6.5 PRC

6.5 PRC is the cartridge that made a lot of people stop shooting 6.5 Creedmoor for hunting. It drives the same 140 to 147 grain high-BC bullets several hundred feet per second faster, which extends both trajectory and terminal performance meaningfully, and it does it with recoil that stays comfortable in a light rifle.

Pairing that with a rifle you can shoot from a bipod and still carry is the point. Most rifles set up this way weigh nine or ten pounds. This one starts at 6.3, which is the difference between a rifle that hunts and a rifle that gets left in the truck.

Who Should Buy It

The Christensen Modern Carbon Rifle 6.5 PRC suits hunters who take long shots from bipods and packs, and shooters who want one rifle for hunting and for practical rifle matches. The adjustable comb makes it easy to set up correctly behind good glass. If you hunt close in timber and want the simplest, lightest possible rifle, the Ridgeline FFT will serve you better, and if you need more energy on elk at extreme range, the 7mm PRC or 300 PRC versions carry farther.
