Description

The CVA Cascade LR Hunter 7mm Rem Mag puts one of the best balanced hunting cartridges ever designed into a rifle configured for distance out of the box. A Bergara made heavy contour barrel, a 20 MOA rail, an adjustable comb and a radial brake all come standard under a Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish.
CVA Cascade LR Hunter 7mm Rem Mag Barrel and Muzzle
The 24 in. barrel is a number 5 heavy contour built by Bergara and fluted to shed a little weight while adding cooling surface. That contour is the reason a long range rifle holds its zero through a string where a slim hunting barrel would start walking after two shots.
Rifling is a 1:9 twist, the standard pitch for 7mm Remington Magnum, well matched to the 160 to 175 grain bullets that suit the cartridge for elk and open country deer. The muzzle is threaded and wears a radial muzzle brake, which takes a useful bite out of the recoil.
Stock, Rail and Trigger
The stock uses a flat forend rather than the rounded profile of a traditional hunting stock. That flat surface sits far more securely on a pack, a rock, a tripod or shooting sticks, which is where most long shots are actually taken. An adjustable cheek piece and removable length of pull spacers let you fit the rifle to yourself.
A 20 MOA Picatinny rail is fitted from the factory. Built in elevation is what allows an ordinary hunting scope to reach well past six hundred yards without running out of internal adjustment, and very few rifles at this price include it.
The trigger is a premium adjustable unit the owner sets between 2 and 4 lbs.

Why 7mm Remington Magnum Endures
It has been in production since 1962 and has outlived most of the cartridges designed to replace it. It shoots flat enough for open country, hits hard enough for elk, and recoils noticeably less than a 300 magnum while doing it.
Ammunition availability is the quiet advantage. You can buy 7mm Remington Magnum at almost any store that sells rifle cartridges, including in small towns near the places people actually hunt, which is not something the newer magnums can claim.
Why Buyers Choose the CVA Cascade LR Hunter 7mm Rem Mag
Bergara makes the barrel, and the two companies share a parent, so the barrel here comes off the same line as barrels fitted to rifles costing several times more. That is the single biggest reason this rifle shoots the way it does.
Everything else on it is a feature makers usually leave out at this price. The adjustable comb, the LOP spacers, the flat forend, the 20 MOA rail, the brake and the adjustable trigger are each something a serious shooter would otherwise add at their own expense.
Who Should Buy It
The CVA Cascade LR Hunter 7mm Rem Mag suits elk and mule deer hunters who take long shots, hunters who want a magnum they can resupply anywhere, and shooters building a capable long range rifle without a custom budget. Put the savings into a scope that tracks reliably and this rifle will do the rest.
