Description
The Alpha Foxtrot Romulus 5 MOS threaded pairs the full-size 5-inch barrel with a threaded muzzle and the MOS adapter optic cut, all in satin DLC black over SUS416 stainless steel. Capacity is 20+1 of 9mm. It is the build for a shooter who wants the longest sight radius in the line and the option to add a muzzle device later.
Full Length, Threaded Muzzle
5-inch bull ramped barrel, black finished and threaded at the muzzle with a protector installed.
The muzzle extends past the slide, so the Alpha Foxtrot Romulus 5 MOS threaded keeps the full sight radius rather than shortening the barrel to make room.
Satin DLC over SUS416 stainless on frame and slide, hard and low friction without polished glare.
Serrated slide, extended beavertail and a Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover.
MOS Adapter Cut and Double-Stack Capacity
MOS adapter cut supports the RMR and the RMSc footprints, so a red dot mounts without a dedicated slide.
Polymer grip module over a steel double-stack frame, the 2011 layout behind the capacity.
Ambidextrous thumb safety and a flared magwell.
Ships with 17-round and 20-round magazines.
Part number AA39X1EIB-XDBK19.

Threads on a full-size gun open up options a shorter build cannot use as well. A compensator on a 5-inch barrel has more gas to work with and a longer dwell time, so the effect is more pronounced than on a 3.5-inch pistol. The same threads accept a thread protector for holster carry, or a muzzle brake for a competition setup. MAG5 Firearms does not sell NFA items, so a suppressor would need to be sourced separately and cleared through ATF approval before mounting.
Why it is worth considering
- Full 5-inch sight radius with a threaded muzzle.
- 20+1 capacity and 1911 trigger geometry.
- MOS adapter cut covers both common red dot footprints.
- Satin DLC on frame and slide, not just the slide.
- Two magazines included, 17-round and 20-round.
Who it suits
Competition shooters and anyone planning to add a compensator will get the most from this configuration. The Alpha Foxtrot Romulus 5 MOS threaded also makes a capable home defense pistol thanks to the accessory rail and the 20-round magazine, though the thread protector should stay fitted if the gun goes into a holster.

Other Full-Size Romulus Options
Alpha Foxtrot builds the Romulus in 3.5-inch, 4.25-inch and 5-inch lengths, in satin or polished DLC, with a MOS adapter cut or a direct RMSc cut, and with plain, threaded or compensated barrels. The 5-inch plain-muzzle DLC black is this pistol without the threads, and the 5-inch polished MOS build swaps satin for a mirror finish. If you prefer a direct optic cut, see the 5-inch threaded RMSc model. Model details are published at Alpha Foxtrot.
A 5-inch barrel gets a little more velocity out of the same cartridge than a compact does, which helps hollow points open reliably. A 124-grain jacketed hollow point is a sound defensive load, with 115-grain full metal jacket for practice. All firearm orders ship to a licensed FFL dealer for transfer, and MAG5 Firearms will coordinate the paperwork with the dealer of your choice.
One point on holsters: a threaded barrel with a protector adds roughly half an inch past the slide, and not every kydex shell has clearance for it. Open-bottom holsters solve this, and most makers cut a threaded-barrel option if you ask. It is worth checking before ordering leather that ends flush with the muzzle.
