Description

A-Zoom 357 Magnum Snap Caps are machined aluminum dummy rounds in 357 Magnum, six to a pack. Six fills a cylinder, which is what turns revolver dry fire from a trigger exercise into an actual load, shoot and reload drill.
How A-Zoom 357 Magnum Snap Caps Are Built
Each round is CNC machined from solid aluminum billet to the exact dimensions of a loaded cartridge and hard anodized. One piece, no separate case head, no plastic body. Nothing swells in a chamber, nothing splits, and nothing gets left behind when you work the ejector rod.
The primer end carries a proprietary polymer cushion instead of a live primer, rated by A-Zoom past three thousand strikes. A double action hammer swing carries real energy, and that cushion is what keeps the firing pin or transfer bar from absorbing all of it.
Because A-Zoom 357 Magnum Snap Caps are dimensionally correct, they drop from a speed loader and eject from a cylinder exactly like live ammunition. That realism is what makes reload practice worth doing.
Why a Full Cylinder Matters
Revolver skill is built one cylinder at a time. Loading six from a speed loader or a speed strip, closing the crane, running six double action pulls and ejecting the whole cylinder is one continuous drill, and it needs six rounds. A pair of snap caps only confirms the hammer falls.
357 Magnum also covers a huge range of guns, from small frame carry revolvers like the SP101 and Model 60 to full size duty guns and lever carbines. A six pack fills a cylinder on most of them and leaves spares on the five shot guns.

Field Notes
Flinch control is the honest reason most people need these. Full house 357 loads out of a short barrel teach anticipation fast, and mixing A-Zoom 357 Magnum Snap Caps randomly into the cylinder is the classic way to see it and drill it out.
Timing and carry-up checks are the technical use. Cycling a loaded cylinder slowly by hand shows whether each chamber locks up in line with the barrel under realistic weight rather than empty.
The polymer cushion is a consumable. When the face is deeply cratered and stops rebounding, retire that round rather than continuing to strike a dead cushion.
Lever carbine owners get a second use. A tube fed 357 carbine stacks rounds nose to primer, and cycling machined dummies through the carrier is the quickest way to confirm the rifle handles a given cartridge length.
Shooting other wheelguns? The line also covers 44 Special and 32 H&R Magnum in matching six packs. Construction details are published by A-Zoom.
For anyone who carries or competes with a 357 revolver, A-Zoom 357 Magnum Snap Caps make real dry practice possible. MAG5 Firearms stocks them as manufacturer item PA16119 in the six pack.
