EAA Weihrauch Bounty Hunter 45 Colt – Superb 7.5″ Single Action Revolver

Description

The EAA Weihrauch Bounty Hunter 45 Colt is a German made single action revolver from Weihrauch, imported by European American Armory, chambered in .45 Colt with a long 7.5 inch barrel, a blued steel frame and wood grips. It holds six rounds and uses a transfer bar safety.

EAA Weihrauch Bounty Hunter 45 Colt Overview

Weihrauch has a long reputation for precision engineering, and the Bounty Hunter brings that quality to the classic western revolver. Unlike original single action designs, the EAA Weihrauch Bounty Hunter 45 Colt uses a transfer bar safety system, which allows the hammer to strike the firing pin only when the trigger is pulled. That makes it safer to carry with all six chambers loaded. Fixed sights consist of a blade front and a notch rear, and the steel frame and long barrel give the revolver weight and balance that help tame recoil.

.45 Colt

The .45 Colt is the classic western cartridge, delivering heavy, slow bullets with manageable recoil in standard loads. It works for target shooting, cowboy events and hunting small to medium game where legal.

7.5 Inch Barrel

The long 7.5 inch barrel, often called the cavalry length, maximizes sight radius and velocity. It is ideal for range work and hunting, though it carries less easily than shorter barrels.

Transfer Bar Safety

The transfer bar system is a key modern improvement, reducing the risk of an accidental discharge if the hammer is struck. Still, always follow safe handling practices and keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

Practice and Training

Regular practice builds confidence and safe handling. Start at close range, focus on sight alignment and a smooth trigger press, and work back as your groups tighten. Dry fire with snap caps at home to improve your trigger control between range trips.

Choosing Ammunition

Try several brands and bullet weights to see what feeds reliably and groups best in your handgun. Use quality full metal jacket loads for practice and proven hollow points for defense, and confirm reliable function with your defensive load before carrying it.

Care and Maintenance

Clean the barrel, slide or cylinder and frame after shooting, apply a light coat of quality lubricant to moving parts, and store the handgun unloaded in a locked case or safe away from children.

Safe Storage

Store handguns unloaded in a locked safe, lockbox or with a cable lock, and keep ammunition separate when children are in the home. Quick access safes keep a defensive handgun secure but available. Teach everyone in the household basic firearm safety rules.
