Holosun EPS Red 2 MOA Enclosed Emitter
The emitter fires across a fully sealed tube instead of sitting exposed in an open channel. Lint, sweat, rain and holster grit cannot settle on the LED and blank out the dot. On a pistol that is carried rather than kept in a range bag, that is the single feature worth paying for, and it is what the whole EPS line is built around.
The housing is 7075 T6 aluminium, black anodised, rated IPX8 for water immersion and tested to 5000G of shock. The sight weighs 1.4 ounces and measures 1.63 by 1.19 by 0.99 inches. An aspheric lens keeps the dot round and the view free of the distortion cheaper glass introduces at the edges.
The Holosun EPS Red 2 MOA is the full size EPS rather than the slimline EPS Carry. It is a little taller and a little heavier, and the payoff is the larger window. If the pistol is a compact or micro compact carried concealed, the Carry version is usually the better fit; on a full size gun the extra window is free.
Why the Holosun EPS Red 2 MOA Runs a Small Dot
A 2 MOA dot covers two inches at 100 yards. On a pistol that means it does not obscure what you are shooting at, which matters if you use the gun beyond conversational distance or shoot it in competition. The tradeoff against the 6 MOA version is pickup speed: a smaller dot takes fractionally longer to find under stress.

Holosun EPS Red 2 MOA Window and Controls
The window measures 0.90 by 0.63 inches, which is the full size EPS aperture rather than the narrower Carry version. Adjustment on the Holosun EPS Red 2 MOA is 1.5 MOA per click with 30 MOA of travel in each direction. Coarser clicks than a rifle optic, which is correct here: you zero once and the heavier detent resists walking under slide recoil.
Holosun does not publish a runtime for the Holosun EPS Red 2 MOA at maximum brightness, only the 50,000 hour figure at setting 6. Read that as a realistic daylight number rather than a worst case, which is how most optic battery claims work across the industry.
There are twelve brightness settings, eight for daylight and four that work under night vision, and you set them yourself. There is no automatic brightness sensor, no solar panel and no selectable reticle on this model. Shake Awake, auto off, a brightness memory and a button lockout are all present.
Holosun EPS Red 2 MOA Footprint and Battery
The sight uses Holosun K footprint and an RMR to K adapter plate ships in the box. Power is a CR1620 rated at 50,000 hours on setting 6, in a side loading tray so you can change the battery without dismounting the sight and losing your zero. It is a common cell but a small one, so keep a spare with the gun rather than assuming you can buy one locally in a hurry.
