Description

The Weatherby 307 Adventure SD 308 Win puts the most practical big game cartridge in North America into Weatherby modern 307 action, wrapped in a fancy walnut stock with a rosewood forend tip and a maple diamond inlay. It is a traditional looking rifle with an entirely current action underneath.
Weatherby 307 Adventure SD 308 Win Barrel and Muzzle
The barrel is 22 inches in Weatherby Mag Sporter contour, fluted to trim weight and add cooling surface. Twenty two inches is the right length for 308 Winchester, which burns its powder quickly and gains almost nothing from a longer tube while losing handiness in timber and on a truck rack.
The muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 and wears an Accubrake, which brings barrel and brake together to 24 inches. Take the brake off and a suppressor threads on directly, which is a combination 308 Winchester suits particularly well.
Rifling is a 1:10 twist, the standard pitch for the cartridge, handling everything from 150 grain hunting loads to 175 grain match bullets.
Action, Stock and Trigger
The Model 307 action is a two lug, fully cylindrical design built on the Remington 700 footprint. Scope bases, bottom metal, triggers and aftermarket stocks all fit without adapters, which is a real advantage over proprietary actions. Receiver, bolt, bolt knob and barrel wear Graphite Black Cerakote for weather resistance bluing cannot match.
The SD stock is fancy grade walnut with a rosewood forend tip and grip cap, a maple diamond inlay with spacers, and a Monte Carlo comb that raises the eye to scope height. Length of pull is 13.75 in., drop at comb is 0.75 in. and drop at heel is 1.25 in.
A TriggerTech Field trigger with a zero creep break adjusts externally down to 2.5 lbs., and a two position safety sits at the rear of the action.

Why 308 Winchester Is Still the Sensible Choice
It kills deer, elk, black bear and hogs cleanly inside four hundred yards, it recoils mildly enough that most shooters can shoot it well, and you can buy ammunition for it in any town that sells rifle cartridges. Very few cartridges can claim all three.
It is also the cartridge that makes practice affordable. A long range magnum you shoot twelve times a year is worth less than a 308 you shoot two hundred times, and marksmanship is what actually fills tags.
Why Buyers Choose the Weatherby 307 Adventure SD 308 Win
Most rifles in this class ask you to choose between a modern action and a stock worth looking at. This one gives you both, and the 307 action means you are never locked into anything since it accepts standard aftermarket parts.
The included TriggerTech trigger and Accubrake are real value as well. On most rifles at this price those are several hundred dollars of upgrades added later.
Who Should Buy It
The Weatherby 307 Adventure SD 308 Win suits deer and hog hunters who want one rifle for a lifetime, hunters who prefer walnut but will not give up a modern action, suppressor owners, and anyone who values being able to buy ammunition anywhere. Pair it with a 3-9 scope and it will handle almost anything asked of a hunting rifle.
