Description

The Trijicon SRO Mounting Kit Glock MOS is the hardware you need to fit a Trijicon SRO to a Glock MOS or a Springfield Armory OSP slide. It is a small, inexpensive part that most people forget to order, and getting it wrong is how optics and slides get damaged.

Screw Length Is Not A Detail

An optic mounting screw has to be long enough to engage the threads properly and short enough not to bottom out. Too short and it strips or backs out under recoil. Too long and it bottoms in the slide before it has clamped the optic, which feels tight while the optic is actually loose.

Worse, an over long screw can press up into the body of the optic. That is how people crack a housing or damage the internals of a sight that cost several hundred dollars. The Trijicon SRO Mounting Kit Glock MOS exists so you are using the length the manufacturer specified rather than whatever was in the parts drawer.

MOS And OSP Are Adapter Plate Systems

Glock’s Modular Optic System and Springfield’s Optical Sight Pistol cut are not direct optic footprints. Both use an adapter plate that sits in the slide cut, and the optic bolts to the plate rather than to the slide itself. Each optic footprint needs its own plate.

That is why a Trijicon SRO Mounting Kit Glock MOS is specific rather than universal. The plate and screws have to match the SRO footprint on one side and the MOS or OSP cut on the other, and a kit intended for a different optic will not bridge that gap correctly.

Thread Locker And Torque

Use a medium strength thread locker on the screws and let it cure before shooting. A pistol slide is one of the most hostile places to keep a fastener tight, and an optic that works loose during a string will shift zero long before it falls off.

Torque to the value Trijicon specifies rather than to feel. Over tightening a small screw into aluminium strips the threads in the plate or the slide, which is a considerably more expensive problem than the Trijicon SRO Mounting Kit Glock MOS itself. A small inch pound driver is worth owning if you mount optics more than once.

Order It With The Optic, Not After

Optics do not ship with mounting hardware for every possible slide, and the SRO is no exception. The usual sequence is that the sight arrives, the customer discovers it will not attach to anything, and the pistol sits on the bench for another week waiting for a part that costs less than a box of ammunition.

If you are buying an SRO for a MOS or OSP pistol, put the Trijicon SRO Mounting Kit Glock MOS in the same order. If you are not sure which cut your slide has, tell us the model and generation and we will confirm it before anything ships.

Why This Kit And Not Another

  • Correct screw length for the MOS and OSP cut, specified by the manufacturer
  • Matches the SRO footprint rather than approximating it
  • Removes the guesswork that damages optics and strips slide threads
  • Inexpensive next to the optic it protects
  • Genuine Trijicon hardware rather than a generic substitute

Fitting It

Clear the pistol and confirm it is empty, then take the slide off the frame and work on the slide alone. Remove the MOS or OSP cover plate, seat the adapter, then fit the optic. Nothing about this job requires a loaded firearm at any stage.

Check zero on paper afterwards. Even with the Trijicon SRO Mounting Kit Glock MOS fitted correctly, an optic sitting a fraction differently than the last one will not share its zero, and assuming otherwise is how people discover a problem at the worst time.

Also Worth Knowing

The SRO shares the RMR mounting footprint, so hardware described as RMR or SRO compatible generally covers both. What it must match exactly is the slide cut, because a MOS plate and an OSP plate are not interchangeable despite doing the same job.

If your pistol has no factory optic cut at all, no Trijicon SRO Mounting Kit Glock MOS will help. That slide either needs milling or a mount that replaces the rear sight, and we can talk you through which makes sense for your gun.
