Choosing the 6.5 MOA Dot
A 6.5 MOA dot is built for speed. It is roughly 1.6 inches at 25 yards, large enough for the eye to catch immediately during a hurried draw or while moving, which is why many defensive pistol shooters and competitors prefer it. For small targets past 25 yards, the larger dot covers more of the target, so precision shooters often choose 3.25 MOA instead.
Controls and Battery
Push buttons on both sides of the housing adjust brightness through 8 settings, including 2 night vision compatible levels and a super-bright setting, toggle between manual and automatic brightness, and power the sight down for storage. Trijicon rates battery life at over 4 years of continuous use at setting 4 of 8. A lockout feature prevents accidental changes, and the sight remembers your last setting.
