Description
The Trijicon RMR Type 2 Adjustable RM34 Tall Mount kit turns Trijicon’s 3.25 MOA adjustable LED RMR into a ready-to-run carbine sight. The RM34 tall Picatinny mount lifts the RMR to a comfortable height for AR-15 style rifles and pistol caliber carbines.
Trijicon RMR Type 2 Adjustable RM34 Tall Mount Overview
Trijicon part RM06-C-700674 uses the Type 2 RMR body, a matte black forged aluminum housing with upgraded electronics and battery contacts over the first generation. The adjustable LED has 8 brightness levels including 2 night vision settings, plus an automatic mode. Mounted on the RM34, the RMR sits high enough that most shooters get a natural head position on a flat-top AR without adding a riser.
Choosing the 3.25 MOA Dot
The 3.25 MOA dot is the most popular RMR configuration because it balances speed and precision. It covers under an inch at 25 yards, small enough for accurate shots on a pistol and fine enough for rifle offset use, yet still quick to find during the draw. If you are buying one RMR for general use, this is usually the size to choose.
Controls and Battery
Push buttons on both sides of the housing adjust brightness through 8 settings, including 2 night vision compatible levels and a super-bright setting, toggle between manual and automatic brightness, and power the sight down for storage. Trijicon rates battery life at over 4 years of continuous use at setting 4 of 8. A lockout feature prevents accidental changes, and the sight remembers your last setting.
Mounting Options
This package includes Trijicon’s RM34 tall Picatinny rail mount, which raises the RMR to a height that works on AR-15 style rifles with a natural head position. It is a common way to run the RMR as a primary sight on a carbine or PCC.
Built for Abuse
The RMR is famous for durability. Its forged aluminum body uses a patented housing shape that steers impact energy away from the lens, and the sight is waterproof to 66 feet. Windage and elevation adjust 1 MOA per click with no special tools needed. This model wears Trijicon’s standard matte black anodized finish, which matches most pistol slides and rifle receivers and shows wear less than colored coatings.
Honest Considerations
On a carbine, the RMR’s compact window is smaller than dedicated rifle dots like the MRO, which some shooters find less forgiving. The bottom-loading battery means removing the optic from the mount to change it. If you want the largest view on a rifle, the MRO SD is the better Trijicon choice.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
