Description
The Trijicon RMR Type 2 1 MOA with RM34 kit puts Trijicon’s finest adjustable LED dot, the 1 MOA RM09, on the RM34 tall Picatinny mount. The result is a precise, ultra-tough reflex sight at the right height for an AR-15 or PCC, ready to install.
Trijicon RMR Type 2 1 MOA with RM34 Overview
This Type 2 RMR has a matte black forged aluminum body and the improved electronics and battery contacts that define the second generation. The adjustable LED gives you 8 brightness levels, including 2 for night vision, plus an automatic mode. Our distributor lists this UPC as the 1.0 MOA adjustable RMR with RM34 mount; Trijicon catalogs that combination under the RM09 family.
Choosing the 1.0 MOA Dot
A 1 MOA dot is the smallest LED dot Trijicon offers in the RMR. It covers about a quarter inch at 25 yards and one inch at 100 yards, which makes it a favorite for offset backup sights on precision rifles and for shooters who want the finest possible aiming point on a pistol. The trade-off is speed: a tiny dot is slower to find during a fast draw, especially for shooters new to optics.
Controls and Battery
Push buttons on both sides of the housing adjust brightness through 8 settings, including 2 night vision compatible levels and a super-bright setting, toggle between manual and automatic brightness, and power the sight down for storage. Trijicon rates battery life at over 4 years of continuous use at setting 4 of 8. A lockout feature prevents accidental changes, and the sight remembers your last setting.
Mounting Options
This package includes Trijicon’s RM34 tall Picatinny rail mount, which raises the RMR to a height that works on AR-15 style rifles with a natural head position. It is a common way to run the RMR as a primary sight on a carbine or PCC.
Built for Abuse
The RMR is famous for durability. Its forged aluminum body uses a patented housing shape that steers impact energy away from the lens, and the sight is waterproof to 66 feet. Windage and elevation adjust 1 MOA per click with no special tools needed. This model wears Trijicon’s standard matte black anodized finish, which matches most pistol slides and rifle receivers and shows wear less than colored coatings.
Honest Considerations
A 1 MOA dot can be harder to see in bright sun and slower to find under stress than a 3.25 or 6.5 MOA dot. The bottom-loading battery means removing the optic to change it. For maximum window size on a carbine, Trijicon’s MRO is more forgiving. Trijicon photos show the RM09 on the low RM33 mount; this kit includes the taller RM34.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
