A Glock MOS slide is milled for a red dot, and the moment you mount one the factory sights disappear beneath the window. The Trijicon HD XR Sights Glock MOS set solves that by raising both sights. The front post and rear notch sit inside the optic window when you look through it, so the dot has a reference around it and you have working irons the instant the dot fails or the battery dies.
Fitment is unusually broad for one part number. Trijicon lists the 17MOS, 19MOS, 34MOS and 45MOS plus the standard 17, 17L, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39 and 45. In practice that means you can fit these optic height sights to a plain slide too, though there is no reason to unless you are running a suppressor on it.
The XR front post is what separates this from the ordinary HD. Trijicon narrowed it so more of the target stays visible either side of the post, which was a law enforcement request for target identification at distance. Behind a red dot it has a second benefit: a slim front post obscures less of the dot window than a fat one does.

Yellow holds up well against green and brown backgrounds and stays distinct inside a red dot window. Honest Notes on the Trijicon HD XR Sights Glock MOS Set
Check what your optic actually needs. Co-witness height is not one measurement. A low mounting footprint like the RMR sits differently to a taller adapter plate stack, and some optics on some plates will put the window above these sights rather than around them. Trijicon builds the Trijicon HD XR Sights Glock MOS set to the common MOS plate heights, which covers most setups, but if you are running an unusual plate and optic combination it is worth checking before you order.
Do not fit these to a bare slide. Tall sights with nothing mounted mean a higher sight picture, more target hidden behind a taller post and no benefit at all. Standard height HD XR sights exist for exactly that case and cost the same.
Holster clearance and tritium life are the usual caveats with the Trijicon HD XR Sights Glock MOS set. Tall sights ride higher in a kydex sight channel and can drag in older holsters, and tritium halves in brightness at roughly twelve years, which is why Trijicon warrants the lamps for twelve rather than for life. Trijicon recommends professional installation on these, which is fair: the Glock rear dovetail is a press fit and the front nut strips easily. Confirm zero on paper afterwards.
