Description
The Trijicon ACOG BAC 300 Blackout Green is Trijicon TA11-C-100416, a 3.5×35 ACOG with a green crosshair bullet drop reticle cut specifically for 300 Blackout. It runs on no batteries at all. Fiber optics on top of the housing gather daylight and feed the reticle, and a tritium lamp takes over as the light fades. Nothing to switch on, nothing to forget.
Dual Illumination and the Trijicon ACOG BAC 300 Blackout Green Reticle
The dual illuminated reticle is the defining Trijicon feature and it is worth understanding. A fibre optic ribbon runs along the top of the scope body collecting ambient light, and the brighter the surroundings the brighter the reticle becomes. That automatic scaling is why an ACOG reticle never washes out in the sun or blinds you indoors. When ambient light drops below the useful threshold, a sealed tritium lamp keeps the crosshair visible. There is no battery compartment anywhere on the scope.
The 300 Blackout BDC reticle matters because 300 Blackout is two cartridges in one. Supersonic loads drop like a heavy .223 and subsonic loads fall off a cliff past a hundred yards. Trijicon merged the aiming points into a simplified stack rather than printing a busy ladder, which keeps the sight picture clean while still giving you holdovers that mean something. It is calibrated rather than generic, which is more than most reticles sold as 300 Blackout ready can claim.
The Trijicon ACOG BAC 300 Blackout Green also uses the Bindon Aiming Concept. Keep both eyes open and your brain takes the magnified image from the scope eye and the unmagnified field from the other, so a fixed 3.5x behaves far more like a low power variable than the specification suggests when you are tracking something moving.
Trijicon ACOG BAC 300 Blackout Green Specifications
Eye relief is 2.39 inches, which is generous by ACOG standards and noticeably more forgiving than the 4×32 models most people have handled. Exit pupil is 0.39 inches and field of view is 28.9 feet at 100 yards. Adjustments run three clicks per inch at 100 yards. The housing is forged aluminium in matte black, and the Trijicon ACOG BAC 300 Blackout Green ships with the TA51 flat top thumbscrew mount, a TA63 scopecoat, a lens pen and lanyards for the adjuster caps.

Honest Notes on the Trijicon ACOG BAC 300 Blackout Green
This is an expensive scope for a cartridge that is often shot at short range. Trijicon retail is 1,815 dollars, which is more than many complete 300 Blackout uppers. If your rifle is a subsonic suppressor host shot inside a hundred yards, a red dot at a fifth of the price will do everything you need. The Trijicon ACOG BAC 300 Blackout Green makes sense on a supersonic 300 Blackout rifle used at distance, or on a gun you want to be able to shoot in any light without checking a battery.
Fixed 3.5x is a real constraint, and the Bindon Aiming Concept only softens it. Inside about ten yards a magnified optic is slower than a dot, no matter how you train. Plenty of people run a small red dot piggybacked on top of an ACOG for exactly this reason, and Trijicon sells mounts to do it.
Two more practical points. Dual illumination means the reticle brightness is not under your control, so in a dark room with a bright doorway behind you the fibre can be dimmer than you would like. And the tritium is a consumable like any other, losing about half its brightness every twelve years, so a very old ACOG bought second hand may not be doing what a new one does after dark.
