Description
The Taylor’s Schofield Deluxe Pearl 45 Colt is a revolver chambered in 45 Colt with a 7-inch barrel and a 6-round cylinder. Taylor’s & Company of Winchester, Virginia, has specialized in authentic reproductions of historic firearms for decades.
Taylor’s Schofield Deluxe Pearl 45 Colt Overview
The Schofield is a top-break single-action revolver based on the Smith & Wesson Model 3, which opens to eject all spent cases at once for fast reloading. It was carried by the U.S. Cavalry and famous lawmen of the frontier.
Design and Features
This Schofield 7″ .45LC Deluxe Engraved Pearl Grip has a round blued steel engraved barrel, a blued steel engraved frame, polymer pearl grips, and a fixed blade front sight and rear sight notch on latch rear sight. Rifling twist is RH 1×16″. It weighs about 2.97 pounds and measures 12.75″ overall. It is built for Taylor’s & Company by Uberti in Italy. Taylor’s offers its tuning service for a smoother action.
Handling and Carry
The classic plow-handle grip rolls naturally in the hand under recoil, and the single-action trigger is light and crisp once the hammer is cocked.
Trigger and Controls
Cock the hammer for each shot; the single-action trigger then breaks cleanly with a short pull.
Sights and Optics
The factory sights give a clear, quick sight picture, and the optic-ready slide lets you add a red dot whenever you are ready.
The 45 Colt Cartridge
The 45 Colt offers a good balance of power, accuracy, and recoil for its intended use.
Setup and Accessories
Pick a holster made for your revolver frame size and barrel length, and add speedloaders or speed strips so you can reload quickly.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the revolver and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the breech face and slide rails. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
