The Taurus Judge Two Tone 6.5 is the long-barrelled version of the redesigned Judge, catalogued as 2-JUDGE65. Five rounds of 45 Colt or 410, a 6.50-inch barrel inside a squared shroud with a full-length top rib, a stainless frame and a black cylinder and shroud.

This is where the current design makes the most sense. The redesigned Judge already trades the old slim barrel for a sleeved one with the rib and fiber optic built in; stretch that to six and a half inches and you get a sighting plane long enough to shoot deliberately and a barrel long enough for the 410 side to be worth loading. The Taurus Judge Two Tone 6.5 is a field gun rather than a carry gun and makes no apology for it.

Before buying shells: Judge cylinders are cut for either 2-1/2 inch or 3-inch 410 and the length is stamped on the barrel. Check yours, and never load a 3-inch shell in a 2-1/2 inch chamber. Both chamberings are produced to the dimensional and pressure standards published by SAAMI, so factory ammunition from any reputable maker is appropriate.
