Description
The Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round is the ten-shot, iron-sight version of Taurus’s stretched micro-compact: a 3.70-inch satin black DLC barrel, a gas-nitride slide, interchangeable backstraps, a Picatinny rail, and two flush-fitting magazines.
The Carry frame is what makes this worth buying over the standard GX4. It adds about half an inch of barrel and an inch of grip over the micro, which gets you a full three-finger hold and real velocity, while staying narrow enough to carry inside the waistband all day. The Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round gives up nothing but magazine capacity to meet a ten-round limit.
What is on the pistol
- A 3.70-inch satin black DLC barrel — a diamond-like carbon coating that is hard, slick and highly corrosion resistant.
- A black gas-nitrided slide, serrated front and rear. Nitriding hardens the steel itself rather than coating it.
- Interchangeable backstraps, so the reach to the trigger on the Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round fits the hand rather than nearly fitting.
- A Picatinny rail moulded into the dust cover, which the smaller GX4 micro frame does not have.
- Two flush-fitting ten-round magazines, a trigger-blade safety and a striker block.

Irons, not optic cut — and why that is fine
- The Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round has a solid slide top. If you want to mount a red dot, the GX4 Carry TORO is the version to buy; adding a cut to this one is not sensible on a pistol at this price.
- Plain, low-profile fixed sights are what most carry pistols still wear, and they never need a battery or a zero check.
- Nothing is shortened to reach ten rounds. The frame, grip and barrel are the same as the fifteen-round Carry — only the follower and the count differ.
- If you move to a state without a magazine limit, the fifteen-round magazines drop straight in and the Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round becomes the higher-capacity gun.
- Holsters made for any GX4 Carry fit it, so equipping it is cheap and easy.

9mm Luger is standardised by SAAMI, so this pistol runs on anything from the cheapest brass-cased range ammunition to premium defensive loads. Barrel length still matters: at 3.70 inches you give up noticeably less than a three-inch micro does, and defensive loads designed for short barrels perform close to their published figures.
The rest of the family is in stock: the fifteen-round GX4 Carry, the optic-cut GX4 Carry TORO 10 Round and fifteen-round TORO, the Sniper Green Carry, and the smaller GX4 Micro.
Why the Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round earns its place
- The Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round keeps a full-length grip inside a ten-round limit, on a pistol that still conceals like a micro.
- DLC on the barrel and gas nitride on the slide, at a price where painted parts are the norm.
- Interchangeable backstraps and two magazines included.
- A rail, which the micro GX4 frame does not offer.
- Flush-fitting magazines, so nothing prints under a shirt.
This is a serious everyday carry pistol for someone in a ten-round jurisdiction who wants capacity and grip length without stepping up to a compact. It suits a first carry gun and it suits an experienced carrier downsizing from a duty pistol. The trigger is decent rather than exceptional and the sights are plain black; the Taurus GX4 Carry 10 Round competes on features for the money and on fitting the hand properly out of the box.
