The Taurus 692 Black is the matte black build of the two-cylinder convertible, catalogued as 2-692031. Seven rounds on a medium frame, a 3-inch ported barrel, and two cylinders in the box: one for 357 Magnum and 38 Special, one for 9mm Luger.

Living with two cylinders

• Swapping cylinders takes seconds and no tools, so the change is something you do at the bench rather than plan around.

• The 9mm cylinder uses moon clips: thin steel discs that hold the rimless cases for loading and for extraction.
