Description
The Tanfoglio Force Compact F 9mm (TFCOMPACTF9, sold by our feed as the Force P Compact F) is a polymer-framed, double-stack compact built on the CZ 75 pattern. It carries 13+1 rounds of 9mm, has a 3.62 inch barrel and a steel slide, and the F in the name means a frame-mounted manual safety.

Tanfoglio Force Compact F 9mm Overview
Tanfoglio has made Force-series polymer pistols for decades, and Americans know their cousins as the EAA Witness-P line. The Compact F uses a traditional double-action/single-action trigger: the first shot is a long, heavier double-action pull, and later shots are short single-action pulls. Because the safety is on the frame, you can carry the pistol cocked and locked like a 1911, or hammer down and ready for a double-action first shot. The importer lists the weight at 1.70 pounds and the barrel at 3.62 inches; our older title said 3.7 inches.
Why the CZ 75 Pattern Still Works
The slide rides inside the frame rails, which keeps the bore axis low and gives a long, well-supported slide-to-frame fit. The design has served military, police and competitors for close to 50 years. It feels different from a Glock in the hand: the grip is rounder and the beavertail is short, so try it if you can.

Living With a DA/SA Trigger
The double-action first pull takes practice to shoot well, and the transition to single action is a skill of its own. The upside is a heavy first pull for carry, followed by a crisp single-action trigger for follow-ups. Dry-fire practice pays off quickly with this kind of pistol.
Carry Size and Sights
With a short slide and a grip that still holds 13 rounds, this is a compact rather than a micro pistol. Fixed steel sights are rugged but carry no tritium, so add a weapon light on the Picatinny rail for low light. Holster choice is narrower than for Glock or Sig, so look for Witness-P Compact molds.

Magazines and Ammunition
Tanfoglio compact 9mm magazines are steel, but they are not stocked everywhere. Buy two or three spares at the start. The gun handles standard 115 and 124 grain loads; check the manual before running +P ammunition regularly through a compact pistol.
Honest Trade-Offs
Aftermarket support and resale value trail the big American brands, and polymer DA/SA pistols are a niche choice today. If you like the CZ grip angle and want a manual safety on a carry-size 9mm, it is a solid, proven design at a sensible price.
State Laws and Ownership
Pennsylvania has no magazine capacity limit and no handgun roster, but the sale still runs through a licensed dealer with a background check. The 13-round magazine is legal in most states but not where a 10-round limit applies. Several states, including California, Massachusetts and Maryland, keep handgun rosters, and imported Tanfoglio models are rarely on them. Check your state and local rules, and confirm with your receiving FFL that it can transfer this pistol, before you order.
