The Stevens 301 Turkey 12 Gauge Bottomland is a single-shot break-action shotgun with a 26-inch barrel, a Mossy Oak Bottomland camo synthetic stock, and a single-shot design. It is built for modern TSS turkey loads.
Stevens 301 Turkey 12 Gauge Bottomland Overview
The Stevens 301 Turkey is a single-shot, break-action shotgun designed around modern tungsten super shot (TSS) turkey loads. With one shell and one well-placed shot, it is simple, light, and quick to carry into the woods. The 26-inch barrel is optimized for Federal Premium HEAVYWEIGHT TSS loads, and the gun comes ready for turkey hunting with an extra-full choke, sling swivel studs, and a removable rail for an optic or red dot.
Photo note: the manufacturer photos shown are of another gauge of this same model. The 12 gauge version shares the same design, finish, and features.
Action and Barrel
The single 26-inch barrel is built to throw dense patterns with TSS loads and comes with an extra-full choke tube in the Win Choke (1/2-32UN) pattern. A manual hammer-blocking safety keeps the gun safe until you are ready to shoot, and the break-open action makes loading and unloading quick and easy to verify. Because there is only one shell, the gun is very light to carry on long walks to the roost.
Stock and Fit
The Stevens 301 Turkey 12 Gauge Bottomland wears a Mossy Oak Bottomland camo synthetic stock and fore-end. Length of pull is 13.75 inches. A recoil pad at the butt softens felt recoil and keeps the stock from slipping on your shoulder. Overall length is about 41.5 inches and the gun weighs about 6 lbs, light enough to carry all day.
Sights and Chokes
A bead sight is compatible with TruGlo sight systems, and the removable one-piece rail gives you a place to mount a red dot or turkey optic. The extra-full choke tightens the pattern for clean head and neck shots.
In the Field
In 12 gauge, the shotgun handles the widest range of loads on the market, from light target shells to heavy hunting and defensive loads, and ammunition is easy to find almost anywhere. It is built for turkey hunting with modern TSS loads and works for other close-range hunting with the right choke.

Care and Cleaning
Cleaning is simple. After each outing, run a bore brush and patches through the barrel and wipe down the choke tube threads, wipe the metal with a light coat of gun oil, and check that the action is free of dirt and debris. Remove and clean the choke tubes regularly, and put a little choke tube lube on the threads so they do not seize. The synthetic stock needs nothing more than a wipe with a damp cloth.
