Description
The Smith Wesson PC MP9 Metal Carry Comp is a pistol chambered in 9mm with a 4.22-inch barrel and a 17+1 capacity. This Performance Center pistol pairs an aluminum frame in Midnight Bronze Cerakote with a ported barrel and optic-ready slide.
Smith Wesson PC MP9 Metal Carry Comp Overview
The Performance Center M&P9 Metal Carry Comp is built to reduce felt recoil and keep you on target. Its PowerPort barrel and slide cut vent gas upward, while the ClearSight cut directs gas away from a mounted optic so your view stays clear while firing. It ships with two 17-round magazines.
Design and Features
The 4.22-inch stainless steel barrel has a 1:10 twist and an Armornite finish. The aluminum frame wears Midnight Bronze Cerakote, and the slide is cut for optics. There is no manual thumb safety, and the 18-degree grip angle and interchangeable palmswells carry over from the standard M2.0.
Handling and Carry
The metal frame gives a solid, damped feel, and the compensator noticeably flattens muzzle rise for quick follow-up shots. It is a great choice for competition, home defense, or open carry, and it can be carried concealed with the right holster and belt.
Trigger and Controls
The flat-face trigger delivers consistent finger placement and a clean, repeatable break. Combined with the compensated barrel, it helps you shoot fast strings with tight groups.
Sights and Optics
A U-notch rear sight pairs with a front night sight, and the optic cut lets you add a red dot for faster target acquisition.
The 9mm Cartridge
The 9mm Luger is the most popular handgun cartridge in the world. It offers manageable recoil, good capacity, and a huge selection of affordable practice and defensive ammunition.
Setup and Accessories
A good holster is the most important accessory for any carry pistol. Choose one that covers the trigger guard completely and holds the gun securely, then add a sturdy gun belt, spare magazines, and a weapon light if the frame has a rail. Practice drawing and reloading with an unloaded gun until it feels natural.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the pistol and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the breech face and slide rails. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
