Description

The Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm is the full-size metal-framed M&P M2.0 in black anodized aluminum, with a 4.25 inch barrel and a slide milled specifically for the Aimpoint ACRO enclosed-emitter optic.
Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm Cut for the ACRO, Not for an Adapter
Most optic-ready pistols use a plate system, which works but adds a layer of hardware between the optic and the slide. This slide is milled directly for the Aimpoint ACRO footprint, so the optic sits as low as it can and there is nothing in between to loosen. A slide cover plate is supplied for use before you fit one; the ACRO itself is sold separately.
The ACRO is an enclosed-emitter design, which matters on a pistol. A closed housing keeps rain, lint and holster debris off the emitter, and that is the failure mode that catches out open-emitter dots carried daily.
Smith and Wesson also machines what they call a ClearSight cut, which routes propellant gas away from the optic window so the view stays unobstructed as you shoot.
The Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm frame
The frame is aluminum with a black anodized finish, and the rigidity is the point. A metal frame does not flex under recoil the way polymer does, which gives a more consistent lockup and a flatter recoil impulse. At 30 ounces the pistol is heavier than a polymer M2.0, and it shoots noticeably calmer as a result.
Optic-height night sights are fitted, so you get a usable co-witness with the ACRO and a tritium reference in the dark whether or not the optic is mounted or working.
The flat-face trigger gives a consistent finger reference, the 18 degree M&P grip angle points naturally for most shooters, and four interchangeable palmswell inserts let you fit the grip to your hand. There is no thumb safety on this model.

Why Buyers Choose the Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm
A direct ACRO cut puts the optic lower and removes the plate, which means one less interface to work loose under recoil and a better chance of co-witnessing with the irons.
An enclosed-emitter optic is the right choice for a pistol that gets carried rather than kept in a safe, because the emitter is protected from the weather and the pocket lint that blinds open designs.
Optic-height night sights are included, so the pistol is complete and usable before you spend on the ACRO, and remains usable if the optic ever fails.
The metal frame flattens recoil and steadies the gun, which is why competitive shooters and serious trainers keep coming back to metal-framed pistols despite the extra weight.
Who should buy a Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm
The Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm suits shooters who have chosen the Aimpoint ACRO and want a slide cut for it, carriers who want an enclosed-emitter optic on a duty-size pistol, and anyone who prefers the handling of a metal frame. Note the optic is not included, so budget for it separately.

Before you order a Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm
Distributor restrictions on this SKU: no direct shipment to Rhode Island or Washington, and no sale to Illinois under PICA, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands. Tell us the destination when you order and we will check before we take your money.
One thing to be straight about: we do not currently stock an ACRO-footprint optic. We carry ACRO mounts for rifles, but no pistol dot in that pattern at the moment. If you want the optic and the pistol together, tell us which one and we will source it — do not buy an RMR-pattern dot such as a Holosun 509T expecting it to bolt on, because the ACRO cut is a different pattern and there is no adapter plate that makes a 509T fit.
The night sights on a Smith Wesson M2.0 Metal ACRO Cut 9mm are the reason this matters less than it might. They are optic height, which means the pistol is fully usable with irons alone and the dot is an upgrade rather than a prerequisite. That is unusual and it is the best argument for this configuration.
For ammunition, Federal American Eagle 115gr FMJ is the practice load and Hornady Critical Defense the defensive one. A 30-ounce metal-framed 9mm is about as soft-shooting as a duty pistol gets, so plan on shooting it a lot.
Other M2.0 Metal configurations we carry: the 4 in. 15 round, the 4 in. with thumb safety, the 3.6 in. 15 round and the 3.6 in. with safety.
Chamber and pressure standards for 9mm Luger are published by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute; the factory page is at Smith and Wesson.
Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred there after a background check.
