Description
Federal AE 9mm 115gr FMJ ammunition is American Eagle’s go to 9mm Luger range load. The 115 grain full metal jacket bullet leaves a 4 inch test barrel at about 1,180 feet per second, delivering light recoil, reliable feeding and consistent accuracy for everyday practice. Each box holds 50 rounds.
The Most Popular Practice Round
The 115 grain bullet is the most common 9mm practice weight. It is light and fast, with a quick, snappy recoil impulse that is easy to control in both full size and compact pistols. That makes it a great choice for new shooters and high volume training alike.
American Eagle uses Federal primers, Federal brass and clean burning powders, so each box performs like the last. Federal’s published data shows this load holding about 960 feet per second at 100 yards.
Full metal jacket bullets feed reliably in nearly every 9mm pistol and pistol caliber carbine, leave clean holes in paper and cost less than hollow points.

If you carry a heavier defensive load, confirm both loads print to the same point of aim at your usual distances.
Practice draws, reloads and shooting at 3, 7 and 15 yards to build well rounded skills.
Clean and lubricate your pistol after long sessions for reliable function.
Federal AE 9mm 115gr FMJ ammo is a proven choice for 9mm pistol owners, new shooters and anyone who practices regularly and wants dependable, affordable range ammunition.
The 9mm Luger is the most popular handgun cartridge in the world, used by militaries, police agencies and private citizens on every continent. Its mild recoil and high capacity make it easy to shoot well, and that is why so many people choose it for carry and home defense. Federal AE 9mm 115gr FMJ ammo produces roughly 355 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle by standard calculation.
Regular practice is what turns a handgun into a useful tool. A few boxes of Federal AE 9mm 115gr FMJ rounds each month gives you time to work on grip, sight alignment, trigger control and reloads.
The lighter 115 grain bullet also makes this load a good choice for new shooters, since the recoil is easy to manage and the pistol returns to target quickly.
Store your ammunition in a cool, dry place in its original box. Buying a few boxes of Federal AE 9mm 115gr FMJ from the same lot keeps your point of impact consistent, and having extra on hand means you are always ready for the next range trip.
If you shoot a pistol caliber carbine in 9mm, this load works well there too, and the longer barrel adds velocity for a flatter trajectory at carbine distances. Many shooters keep one practice load for both pistol and carbine to simplify their range bag. Before relying on any new load, fire a few full magazines to confirm reliable function in your specific firearm, and clean your gun afterward so it stays dependable.
