Description
The Sig Sauer P365 XMacro Thumb Safety is a narrow slice of the XMACRO line, and it exists because two real needs overlap: shooters who want a manual safety, and shooters who cannot have standard-capacity magazines. If only one of those applies to you, there is a better fit in the range.
Why the Sig Sauer P365 XMacro Thumb Safety Exists
A manual safety on a striker pistol is a personal call, and this configuration answers specific requirements. Some departments and ranges mandate one. Appendix carriers often want a mechanical block between the trigger and a loaded chamber while reholstering. Shooters raised on a 1911 already have the sweep built into their draw.
On this pistol the lever sits under the thumb where it naturally rides, so disengaging happens as you build your grip rather than as an extra step to remember under pressure.
Sig Sauer P365 XMacro Thumb Safety: What Ten Rounds Changes
Two ten-round steel magazines ship in the case rather than the seventeen-round magazines supplied with the standard gun. That is the only functional difference. Frame, slide, barrel and grip module are identical, so holster fit, trigger feel and sight picture are unchanged, and seventeen-round magazines drop straight in if you later move somewhere that permits them.
Without a capacity cap, the standard seventeen-round manual-safety XMACRO is the same gun with more rounds. Without the safety requirement, the ten-round XMACRO saves you the lever. Both are listed separately.

Sig Sauer P365 XMacro Thumb Safety: Grip Module and Backstraps
The XMACRO grip module is what separates this pistol from the rest of the P365 line. An integrated carry magwell is moulded in, which makes reloads far less fiddly on a gun this size, and small, medium and large backstraps ship in the box so the reach to the trigger is something you set. That matters more than usual here, because you also need to reach the safety lever.
Barrel, Sights and Optics
This is the uncompensated XMACRO with the full 3.7-inch barrel, so muzzle blast is mild and it suits indoor ranges and home defence. XRAY3 day and night sights are fitted at the factory, and the slide is cut for the COMPACT footprint matching the Shield RMSc pattern, so a ROMEO-X Compact or similar micro red dot mounts with no adapter plate.
Who the Sig Sauer P365 XMacro Thumb Safety Is For
Someone who needs or wants a thumb safety and is also working under a magazine limit. If that is you, this is the only XMACRO that fits both requirements without compromise. Everything that makes the XMACRO the most capable pistol in the P365 line is present in the Sig Sauer P365 XMacro Thumb Safety except the round count, and that is a magazine purchase away from being fixed if your situation changes.
The no-safety and seventeen-round versions of this pistol are listed in our handgun catalog. Factory specifications are published by SIG SAUER.
