Sig Sauer MCX Spear 7.62 Pistol – Potent 13 Inch Build

Description

The Sig Sauer MCX Spear 7.62 Pistol puts a full-power battle rifle cartridge behind a 13-inch barrel in a package that ships as a pistol with no brace fitted. MAG5 Firearms stocks it in coyote tan with an adjustable gas block, a QD flash hider and the short-stroke piston system the MCX line is built on.

Why 7.62 NATO in This Format

Three-oh-eight and 7.62 NATO were designed for 20-inch barrels, but modern powders and an adjustable gas system make 13 inches workable. The Sig Sauer MCX Spear 7.62 Pistol gives up velocity to the shorter barrel and buys back handling that a full-length rifle cannot offer.

For vehicle storage, tight interiors and any situation where overall length is the binding constraint, that trade is worth making. The cartridge still hits far harder than anything in 5.56 at defensive distances.

The Adjustable Gas Block

Short barrels and full-power cartridges produce violent, poorly timed gas impulses unless the system is tuned. An adjustable block lets the Sig Sauer MCX Spear 7.62 Pistol be dialed for the specific ammunition in use and re-dialed when a suppressor goes on.

That adjustability is not a luxury on this configuration. It is what separates a rifle-cartridge pistol that runs reliably from one that batters its own bolt carrier.

Sig Sauer MCX Spear 7.62 Pistol Handguard and Muzzle Device

An M-LOK free-float handguard keeps sling and bipod loads off the barrel, so point of impact does not shift with how the gun is supported. Accessories mount directly without rail sections adding weight.

The SLX/SLH quick-detach flash hider is a suppressor mount as well as a muzzle device, so a compatible can attaches and detaches in seconds without tools.

Piston Operation and Suppressed Use

The short-stroke piston keeps propellant gas and carbon forward at the gas block instead of dumping them into the receiver. Under a suppressor, where back pressure climbs sharply, that difference decides whether the gun stays runnable.

Combined with the adjustable gas block, the Sig Sauer MCX Spear 7.62 Pistol is about as suppressor-ready as a rifle-cartridge pistol gets out of the box.

Configuration and Transfer

This firearm ships as a pistol with no brace or stock fitted, so no NFA paperwork or tax stamp is involved in the purchase. Adding a stock would change its legal classification, so leave that decision to your own research and local law.
