Description

Sellier Bellot 762×39 123gr FMJ is the Sellier & Bellot SB76239A load: a plain, consistent 7.62×39 practice round in brass cases rather than the steel-cased imports many shooters grew up with. It comes in a 20 round box and suits AK-47 and SKS rifles, CZ 527 and Ruger Mini-30 carbines, and AR pattern rifles chambered in the cartridge.
Who Makes Sellier Bellot 762×39 123gr FMJ
Sellier & Bellot was founded in Prague in 1825, which makes it one of the oldest ammunition manufacturers still in business. Production is now based in Vlasim in the Czech Republic. Since 2009 the company has been owned by CBC Global Ammunition of Brazil, the same group that owns Magtech, which is why you will sometimes see the two names listed together.
S&B supplies military and police contracts as well as the commercial market, and its rifle line is known for being clean, consistent and fairly priced rather than exotic. Sellier Bellot 762×39 123gr FMJ fits that pattern. It is new production ammunition with a lead core, a copper alloy jacket and a non-corrosive primer.
The cases are boxer primed brass, so they are reloadable, and the primers are non-corrosive. That is a real difference from surplus and many budget imports, which often use Berdan primers and steel cases. With Sellier Bellot 762×39 123gr FMJ you can clean your rifle on the usual schedule rather than rushing to neutralise corrosive salts after every range trip.
Specifications and Performance
Retail listings give Sellier Bellot 762×39 123gr FMJ a muzzle velocity of about 2,421 fps and roughly 1,601 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, which is typical for the cartridge. Expect slightly less from short-barrelled AK pistols and slightly more from a longer CZ or Mini-30 barrel.
The 7.62×39 is a short to medium range cartridge. With a 100 yard zero the bullet drops quickly past 200 yards, so most shooters treat 300 yards as a practical limit for this kind of load. Inside that distance it is accurate enough for training, steel and general practice.

Field Notes
Where this ammunition earns its place is training and range use in AK-47 and SKS rifles. It feeds and extracts reliably in most rifles, and the brass cases are kinder to extractors than lacquered steel. Retailers report that the bullet does not attract a magnet, but some indoor ranges set their own rules on bullet and jacket material, so check before you go.
Because it is brass cased and boxer primed, it is also a sensible choice if you want to start reloading for the cartridge. Save the cases, sort them by headstamp, and you have a consistent supply of brass. Stored cool and dry in sealed ammo cans, it will keep for many years, which makes buying several boxes from one lot worthwhile for a season of practice.
A note on the label: older listings call this a 123 grain bullet and some newer ones say 124 grains. The item number, SB76239A, is the same, and the difference is down to rounding and packaging updates rather than a different load. The UPC on our listing is the older code, and newer boxes may carry 754908512416.
A full metal jacket bullet is not a hunting projectile. It does not expand reliably, and many states do not allow FMJ for deer or other big game. For hunting, choose a soft point or polymer tipped 7.62×39 load. Rifle ammunition requires buyers to be at least 18, and some states add extra rules for ammunition purchases.
