Description
The Savage B17 F 17 HMR Left Hand is a left-hand bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered in 17 HMR, with a 21-inch button-rifled barrel, a 10-round magazine, and an ergonomic black synthetic stock. It brings flat-shooting varmint performance to southpaw shooters in a light, affordable package that weighs about 5.5 pounds.
Savage B17 F 17 HMR Left Hand Overview
Savage built the B Series for the modern shooter, and the shooter’s body. The B17 F uses a stock with a higher comb and a near-vertical, target-style pistol grip that let you hold the rifle in a more natural, relaxed position. That comfort translates into more consistent shooting from the bench, from sticks, or prone in a pasture. This version is built left-handed, with the bolt on the left side so lefties can cycle it without shifting their grip or cheek weld.
Button-Rifled Barrel
The 21-inch carbon steel barrel has a sporter contour, a matte black finish, and a 1:9 twist suited to the light, fast bullets of the 17 HMR. Button rifling produces smooth, uniform grooves for consistent accuracy. The 17 HMR is known for a flat trajectory and explosive terminal performance on groundhogs, prairie dogs, crows, and other small varmints out past 150 yards.
Ergonomic Synthetic Stock
The black synthetic stock is durable, weather resistant, and comfortable. The raised comb lines your eye up with a scope without a cheek riser, and the vertical grip keeps your wrist straight for a cleaner trigger press. Two sling swivel studs make it easy to add a sling or a bipod for long sits on a field edge.
Safety and Controls
A top tang safety sits right under your thumb, so you can take the rifle off safe quietly and quickly without breaking your grip. It works equally well for left- and right-handed shooters, and the magazine release is ambidextrous for simple reloads.
User-Adjustable Trigger
The Savage AccuTrigger lets you set pull weight anywhere from 2.5 to 6 pounds. A light, crisp trigger matters on a small rimfire target, and the center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge without adding creep.
Magazine and Optics
The rifle feeds from a 10-round rotary-style detachable magazine that sits nearly flush with the stock. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, so you can add a quality rimfire scope and make the most of the cartridge’s reach.
