Description
The Savage 93R17 XP Camo 17 HMR is a bolt-action rimfire rifle with a 21-inch Coyote Tan Cerakote carbon steel barrel, a Brush camo synthetic stock, a 10-round detachable box magazine, and a user-adjustable trigger, plus a mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40mm scope. It weighs about 5.25 lbs and is built for accurate, dependable shooting.
Savage 93R17 XP Camo 17 HMR Overview
The Savage Model 93 has earned a reputation as one of the most accurate magnum rimfire bolt actions on the market, and this XP package dresses it in camo and Cerakote and adds a factory-mounted scope so it is ready to hunt right out of the box. The 17 HMR launches a light, fast bullet on a remarkably flat trajectory, which makes it a favorite for groundhogs, prairie dogs, crows, and other small varmints out past 150 yards.
Barrel and Action
The 21-inch carbon steel barrel is button-rifled for uniform grooves and consistent accuracy, with a 1:9 twist matched to 17 HMR bullets. A Coyote Tan Cerakote finish resists rust, corrosion, and scratches, and it pairs with the camo stock for a low-glare look in the field.
Stock and Fit
The lightweight synthetic stock wears a Brush camouflage pattern that blends into fence rows, field edges, and hardwoods. It is tough and weather resistant, so it will not swell or warp in rain or humidity.
Mounted and Bore-Sighted Scope
This XP package comes with a 3-9x40mm scope already mounted on Weaver-style bases and bore-sighted at the factory, so you can confirm your zero at the range and start hunting with minimal setup.
User-Adjustable Trigger
Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set your own pull weight for a crisp, clean break, a big advantage on small targets. The center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge, and the light, predictable pull helps new shooters build good habits.
Magazine and Handling
The 10-round detachable box magazine loads easily and drops free for quick, safe unloading. Spare magazines make range days and long sits in a prairie dog town more productive.
In the Field
Rimfire rifles often prefer one load over another, so try a few brands of 17 HMR to see which groups best in your barrel. Lighter, faster bullets are great for small pests, while heavier bullets buck the wind better. Pair the rifle with a quality rimfire scope and a steady rest, and you will be surprised how far you can make precise hits.
Care and Cleaning
Rimfire ammunition leaves more fouling than most centerfire loads, so a little routine care keeps the Savage 93R17 XP Camo 17 HMR running smoothly and shooting accurately. After a range session, wipe down the bolt and chamber area, run a few patches through the bore, and put a light coat of oil on exposed metal. Store the rifle in a dry place and it will give you years of dependable service.
