Description
The Sauer 100 Pantera XT 6.5 PRC 20 is a rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC with a 20-inch barrel and a 5+1 capacity.
Sauer 100 Pantera XT 6.5 PRC 20 Overview
P. Sauer und Sohn has built firearms in Germany since 1751, and Blaser Group imports them into the United States. 5 PRC. Before heading to the field or range, take time to set the rifle up for your build and your hunting or shooting style. A quality scope in good rings, a comfortable sling and a set of shooting sticks or a bipod will do more for accuracy than almost anything else.
Zero the rifle with the exact load you plan to use, confirm the zero at the distances you expect to shoot, and practice from field positions so you are ready when the moment comes.
Design and Features
It has a three-lug bolt with a 60-degree throw, a cold hammer-forged barrel, an adjustable trigger, a three-position safety and a detachable 5-round magazine. Choosing the right ammunition matters as much as choosing the rifle. Try several loads from reputable makers, shoot groups from a solid rest, and settle on the one your rifle prefers before hunting season. A good sling, rings that match your scope and a few rounds of practice from field positions will turn an accurate rifle into an effective hunting tool.
Handling in the Field
It is very accurate.
Action and Trigger
The trigger is crisp and adjustable.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 6.5 PRC Cartridge
The 6.5 PRC pushes long, high-BC 6.5mm bullets faster than the 6.5 Creedmoor for flatter trajectories and more energy at distance, with recoil that stays manageable.
Setup and Accessories
Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
