Description
The Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK is the current working version of the most produced rimfire rifle in American history. Ruger part number 32002. An 18.5 inch satin black barrel, a ten round rotary magazine, a lightweight polymer stock with M-LOK slots underneath, and four pounds on the scale.
What separates this configuration from the 10/22 your father owned is small but useful. The BX trigger is fitted from the factory rather than sold as an upgrade, the forend takes accessories without an adapter, and the stock is lighter than the hardwood it replaced. Everything else is the same rotary magazine and the same action that has been running since 1964, which is exactly why the Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK is worth buying.
What the Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK gives you
- 22 LR, 10+1, rotary detachable magazine
- 18.5 inch satin black steel barrel
- 1:16 inch rate of twist
- BX trigger fitted from the factory
- Lightweight black polymer stock with M-LOK slots at six o’clock
- Drilled and tapped receiver for a scope base
- Iron sights fitted
- Sling swivel studs fitted
- 36.5 inches overall, 4 pounds
- Takes the entire 10/22 aftermarket, which is larger than any other rifle’s

Why the 10/22 is still the default answer
- Sixty years of production means every part and accessory exists and is cheap
- The rotary magazine sits flush and does not snag
- Four pounds is light enough for a child or a long walk
- Rimfire costs a fraction of anything centerfire to shoot
- It is the rifle most American shooters learn on, and it earned that

Magazines: the reason a 22 LR semi auto rifle 10+1 like this one wins
The Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK ships with one ten round rotary magazine, and after that the supply is effectively unlimited. Ruger BX-25 25-round magazines in a two pack are what we sell most of and we hold over five thousand of them. Single BX-25 magazines are stacked just as deep. If you feed the Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK a lot of rimfire by hand, a LULA loader and unloader set saves your thumbs, and we keep those in quantity too.
The BX-Trigger 10/22 setup and the M-LOK polymer stock rimfire forend
A BX-Trigger 10/22 used to mean buying the upgrade separately; Zanders records this one as having it fitted from the factory, which is the upgrade Ruger used to sell separately. The M-LOK polymer stock rimfire forend carries slots at six o’clock, so a bipod or a hand stop mounts without a rail adapter and without drilling anything. Sling swivel studs are already fitted to the Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK. The receiver is drilled and tapped, so a scope base goes straight on when you want one.
Ammunition for a 22 LR semi auto rifle 10+1
A 22 LR semi auto rifle 10+1 is among the fussiest things in the shop about ammunition, and the cure is usually just enough velocity. Armscor 22 LR 36 grain high velocity hollow point is what we hold deepest and it cycles this action reliably. Standard velocity target ammunition can short stroke a 10/22 that is dirty. If yours becomes unreliable, clean it and try a hotter load before you conclude anything is wrong with it.
Where it sits in the 10/22 line
The stainless M-LOK version is the identical rifle to the Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK in a rust-resistant finish. The 250th Anniversary edition is the commemorative. There is also a threaded barrel X-22 configuration if you want a muzzle device. All of them take the same magazines as the Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK, the same triggers and the same aftermarket.
Worth knowing before you buy
- 22 LR is a SAAMI standardized cartridge, so factory ammunition is consistent across brands. See the SAAMI published standards.
- One ten round magazine ships with the rifle. Buy more, because you will want them.
- Zanders lists this SKU under a threaded barrel heading but records no thread pitch, and Sports South does not mention threads. We are not claiming a threaded muzzle. Ask us and we will look at one.
- Rimfire semi-autos need cleaning more often than centerfires. That is the cartridge, not the rifle.
Buy the Ruger 10/22 Black M-LOK as a first rifle, a teaching rifle, a small game rifle or a truck rifle, and expect to still own it in twenty years. Nothing else in the shop has this much aftermarket behind it, and nothing else costs this little to shoot.
