Rossi RS22 22LR 18 Teal Overview
The RS22 is a Rossi lever action rifle. Lever guns are fast handling, quick to cycle and easy to carry in thick cover, a classic American design that still works.
Action and Controls
The RS22 is a lever action rifle with a semi-auto action. It holds 10+1 rounds. The safety is crossbolt. This is a right hand model.
Barrel
The 18 inch barrel is steel with a stainless steel profile and a 1:16″ twist. Sights are Fiber Optic Front & Rear.
Stock and Fit
The stock is synthetic with a teal finish. Check the length of pull against your own fit, especially if you shoot in heavy clothing. Metal surfaces wear Matte Black.
Size and Handling
Overall length is 36.20″. It weighs about 4.80 lbs. A steady rest, a good sling and practice from field positions will help you shoot it well.
Ammo and Practice
Rimfire ammo varies a lot between brands, so try a few to find what feeds and groups best in this rifle before you buy in bulk.
The 22 LR
The 22 LR is cheap, quiet and has almost no recoil, which makes it the best round for practice, small game and new shooters.
Small Game and Plinking
This rifle is great for small game, plinking and teaching new shooters, with cheap ammo and almost no recoil.
Optics and Accessories
Plan on quality scope rings or mounts, a sling, a hard or soft case and a cleaning kit. A bipod or shooting sticks help a lot for steady shots in the field or at the bench.
Buying Tips
Budget for quality optics or sights, a sling and ammo, and confirm your zero at the distances you expect to shoot.
Care and Value
Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Rossi holds its value.
State Laws
Some states limit semi-auto features, magazine capacity and hunting calibers. Check your local law before you buy. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
