Description
The Retay ACE-R 20 Ga Legacy 40th Anniversary is a shotgun chambered in 20 Gauge with a 26-inch barrel and a 3+1 capacity. Retay lists it as item number B-RACELEGPBR-20 in the Realtree Legacy 40th Anniversary finish.
Retay ACE-R 20 Ga Legacy 40th Anniversary Overview
The Retay ACE-R is a inertia-driven semi-automatic shotgun from Retay, the Turkish maker known for innovative, well-built shotguns at a strong value. An inertia system uses the recoil of the gun itself to cycle the action, so there is no gas system to foul and the gun stays cleaner and runs a wide range of loads reliably.
Design and Features
This configuration features deep bore drilled barrels, choke tubes (C-IC-M-IM-F-WF Ext. LR), a single fiber optic bead, a sp (oversized) reversable safety, a push button, removable trigger, and the ACE Standard stock. It is chambered for 3″ shells. Capacity is 3+1. It weighs about 5lb 9oz. Length of pull is 14.5″, Including Shim Kit. Drilled and tapped: 12ga – Yes, 20ga/28ga are not. Retay backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.
Handling in the Field
It points naturally and swings smoothly, and the recoil management helps you stay on target for follow-up shots in the duck blind, the turkey woods, or the uplands.
Action and Trigger
The inertia action cycles quickly and reliably, and the push-button removable trigger group makes cleaning simple.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 20 Gauge Cartridge
The 20 gauge offers lighter recoil and a lighter gun than a 12 gauge while still handling upland birds, doves, and clays well, and buckshot and slug loads make it a capable defensive and deer gauge too.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
