Description
The Radian Model 1 Radian Brown Carbine is a hand assembled .223 Wylde rifle with a 14.5 inch match grade threaded barrel and Radian’s own brown Cerakote on the receiver set. Every control is ambidextrous, and every part an owner would normally upgrade is already the upgraded version.
Assembled One at a Time
Every Model 1 is put together by a single trained gunsmith who inspects it, test fires it and cleans it before it ships. That is a different process from a production line, and it accounts for much of what separates this rifle from the tier below it.
The upper receiver, lower receiver and handguard are Cerakoted together as a set, so the brown matches perfectly across all three rather than nearly matching. Radian Brown is also a colour you will not find on a rack full of black and FDE rifles.
Radian Model 1 Radian Brown Carbine Controls
Radian built its name on control upgrades, and this carbine is essentially made entirely from them. The Raptor-SD charging handle works from either side and vents gas forward, away from your face, which matters as soon as a suppressor goes on the muzzle.
The Talon modular safety selector offers a choice of 45 or 90 degree throw and works from both sides of the receiver. For a left handed shooter, or anyone who trains from both shoulders, that is the difference between a rifle that fits and one you adapt to.
Barrel, Handguard and Furniture
The barrel measures 14.5 inches, match grade, Cerakoted black and threaded at the muzzle. Fourteen and a half inches is the sweet spot for a fighting carbine: noticeably handier than a 16 inch rifle with very little velocity given away.
The aluminum M-LOK handguard free floats the barrel and uses an integrated stainless steel anti-rotation pin in the upper, so the rail cannot shift under a mounted light or laser. The stock is a Magpul collapsible unit and the grip is a Magpul K2.

Ammunition and Practical Accuracy
A .223 Wylde chamber shoots bulk 55 grain ball perfectly well, but the carbine rewards better ammunition. Sixty-two to 77 grain match loads are where the chamber earns its keep, and a good shooter with a magnified optic should see groups a standard mil-spec carbine will not match.

Be realistic about the trade-offs. This sits at the top of the AR-15 market on price, no sights or optic are included, and a 14.5 inch barrel needs a pinned muzzle device or an SBR registration depending on your configuration and state.
