Q Boombox Rifle 16 Inch Overview
Q built the Boombox around the 8.6 Blackout cartridge from the start, rather than adapting an existing rifle. The result is a compact, suppressor-first gun that hits hard with heavy subsonic bullets and still reaches out with supersonic loads.
Barrel and Twist
The 16 inch barrel has a 1:3 twist, much faster than a typical rifle barrel. Q designed 8.6 Blackout around that twist so bullets become unstable quickly on impact, which is meant to deliver strong terminal performance even at subsonic speeds. The muzzle is threaded M18 x 1.5 and wears a Cherry Bomb XL device.
Adjustable Gas
An adjustable gas system lets you tune the gun for subsonic or supersonic ammunition and for shooting with or without a suppressor. Proper tuning keeps recoil soft, reduces gas in your face when suppressed and helps parts last longer.
