Description
The PWS MK114 MOD 2-M 6mm ARC is a long stroke piston AR-15 weighing only 6.9 pounds unloaded and guaranteed to sub-MOA with quality ammunition. The 14.5 inch barrel is pinned and welded to a non-NFA 16.1 inches, and the whole rifle is ambidextrous.
Long Stroke Piston, Not Direct Impingement
PWS built its reputation on the long stroke piston system, borrowed in principle from the AK and the M1 Garand rather than from the AR. Combustion gas never enters the receiver, so the bolt carrier stays cool and clean in a way no direct impingement rifle manages.
A three setting adjustable gas system lets you tune the rifle for suppressed or unsuppressed use and for different ammunition. Long stroke also delivers a straighter, more linear recoil impulse, which is a large part of why these rifles track so flat.
PWS MK114 MOD 2-M 6mm ARC Barrel
The barrel is 14.5 inches with a 1:7.5 twist, which is what 6mm ARC needs for the long, high ballistic coefficient bullets the cartridge was designed around. Pinned and welded to the muzzle is PWS’s FRC three port compensator, bringing overall barrel length to a non-NFA 16.1 inches.
The FRC comp is suppressor compatible, so it doubles as a mount rather than something you have to remove first. That combination gives you a genuinely short, light rifle with 6mm ARC reach.
Receivers, Handguard and Controls
Both receivers are 7075-T651 forged aluminum, anodised, with an ambidextrous lower featuring a flared magazine well and a built in trigger guard. PWS eliminated the forward assist, which on a piston gun is a part with nothing useful to do.
The PicLok handguard combines Picatinny and M-LOK into a single interface, so accessories designed for either mount directly. A Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, a Magpul MOE SL carbine stock and a Magpul MOE K2 grip finish the rifle.

Ammunition and Range
The 6mm ARC was developed to give an AR-15 sized action performance approaching a small AR-10 cartridge. Long, sleek 103 to 108 grain bullets leave a 14.5 inch barrel with enough velocity and ballistic coefficient to stay supersonic well past 800 yards, which no standard 5.56 load approaches.
Why Buyers Choose the PWS MK114 MOD 2-M 6mm ARC
The PWS MK114 MOD 2-M 6mm ARC is a rare combination: piston reliability, sub-MOA accuracy and a 6.9 pound carry weight in a cartridge that reaches well past 5.56. PWS backs its uppers and complete rifles with a sub-MOA guarantee and a lifetime warranty.
Who Should Buy It
Hunters who want reach without an AR-10, suppressor owners who value a clean running piston action, and left handed shooters who benefit from a genuinely ambidextrous lower and charging handle.
Be realistic about the trade-offs. Piston rifles cost more than direct impingement, 6mm ARC ammunition is thinner on shelves than 5.56, and the factory trigger is a mil-spec unit rather than a match trigger. No optic or sights are included.
