It pairs a 10.5 inch nitride-treated barrel with a 9 inch Edge M-LOK rail, a Gen4 fully ambidextrous lower and a 4.5 pound match-grade trigger.
POF P415 Edge 300 BLK Pistol Bronze Overview
The P415 is the platform POF built its reputation on. Instead of venting gas into the receiver, a piston drives the one-piece bolt carrier, so the action stays cooler and cleaner. The gas block has five positions, letting you tune it for suppressed or unsuppressed shooting. POF lists 6.7 pounds and 28 inches with the buffer tube, a 1:7 twist with 5R rifling, and a 3-prong flash hider.
Why 300 Blackout in a Short Barrel
300 Blackout was designed to reach full efficiency from about 9 inches of barrel, so a 10.5 inch pistol gives up little compared with a rifle. Supersonic 110 to 125 grain loads behave like a 7.62×39, and heavy subsonic loads are very quiet when suppressed. Subsonic ammo needs the right gas setting to cycle reliably, which is where the adjustable piston helps.
Never Mix Up the Ammo
A 300 Blackout cartridge fits in a 5.56 magazine and can chamber in a 5.56 rifle. Firing it there can destroy the gun and injure you. If you own both calibers, mark your magazines and keep the ammo separate. This is the most important safety rule for any 300 Blackout owner.
Gen4 Ambidextrous Lower
The selector, bolt catch, bolt release and magazine release all sit within easy reach of the firing hand on either side. Left-handed shooters get full control, and right-handed shooters can lock the bolt back without breaking their grip. The lower also has an oversized trigger guard and flared magazine well.
Edge Rail and Weight
POF redesigned the Edge handguard to be about 20 percent smaller than its older rails, roughly 1.75 inches wide. It has M-LOK slots and QD points. A piston pistol is heavier than a direct impingement one, and at 6.7 pounds bare the P415 is not a featherweight once you add an optic and light.
Suppressor Notes
Piston guns are popular hosts because less gas comes back into your face. A suppressor is an NFA item that needs an approved ATF Form 4 and must be legal in your state. Confirm thread pitch and your muzzle device before mounting a can, and use the suppressed gas setting POF recommends.
State Laws and Ownership
AR-style pistols are banned or heavily restricted in California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Illinois and Washington, and some states require a handgun purchase permit or license before any pistol purchase. Pennsylvania buyers go through the PICS check at the dealer. The ATF’s 2023 pistol brace rule was vacated by a federal court in 2024, but this pistol ships with a bare buffer tube. Adding a shoulder stock makes it a short-barreled rifle, and adding a vertical foregrip can make it an “any other weapon”; both are NFA items that need an approved ATF form first.
