Description
The One Horse OH-15 Carbine Gas Rifle is the carbine-length version of One Horse’s 16 inch 5.56 AR-15. Factory model OH-OG02 keeps the 15 inch M-LOK handguard and SOCOM barrel of its mid-length sibling but uses the classic M4-style carbine gas system and an A2 flash hider.

One Horse OH-15 Carbine Gas Rifle Overview
Built and test fired by One Horse in Brownstown, Indiana, the OH-OG02 is about as standard as a modern AR gets: 1:8 twist barrel threaded 1/2×28, carbine gas, mil-spec buffer tube, standard charging handle, A2 grip and the One Horse six-position M4 stock. A 30-round Magpul magazine is included. Distributors list it at roughly 7.1 pounds before you add an optic or light.
Carbine Gas Versus Mid-Length
Carbine gas is the original M4 layout and the most common system on 16 inch ARs. It has a bigger margin with weak or underpowered ammunition and short-stroke suppressor setups, because the gas port sees higher pressure. The trade-off is a sharper cycle, slightly more recoil impulse and harder brass ejection than a mid-length rifle. Some shooters prefer that extra reliability margin for a home or truck rifle.

A Long Rail on a Carbine
Most carbine-gas rifles come with short handguards. Here the 15 inch M-LOK tube runs well past the gas block, so you get a modern free-float setup with room for a forward grip position, a weapon light and a laser. Free floating helps the barrel shoot consistently. There are no sights included.
Barrel and Muzzle
The SOCOM-profile barrel carries extra steel under the handguard, which resists heat-induced shift during long strings. The 1:8 twist stabilizes 55 to 77 grain bullets. The A2 birdcage is a proven flash hider and the 1/2×28 thread accepts almost any 5.56 muzzle device if you want a brake or a suppressor mount instead.

Honest Expectations
This rifle is aimed at value. Expect a standard mil-spec trigger with some creep, basic furniture and an anodized finish that will show holster and case wear. None of that affects function, and the mil-spec parts make upgrades simple. For many owners it is a solid base rifle to customize over time.
Ammunition and Upkeep
Feed it 5.56 NATO or 223 Remington, preferably brass-cased. Keep the carrier lubricated and clean the bolt and chamber every few hundred rounds. Suppressors are NFA items that require an approved ATF Form 4 and must be legal in your state, and a carbine-gas rifle will run noticeably dirtier suppressed.
State Laws and Ownership
AR-15 rifles are legal in most of the country, but not everywhere. California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Washington, Massachusetts and Colorado restrict or ban certain semi-automatic rifles, magazines over 10 or 15 rounds, or both, and distributors will not ship this rifle into some of them (Illinois and Washington among them). Pennsylvania has no AR or magazine ban, and the transfer goes through the state PICS check. Check your state and local law before you order.
