Description

The Andro Corp ACI-15 Bravo 5.56 Tungsten is the standard Bravo 16 wearing tungsten Cerakote on both receivers instead of plain black anodizing. The grey holds up better than anodizing does against sweat and holster wear, and it looks like something other than every other AR on the rack. Underneath it is the same rifle Andro Corp Industries has been building for years: 16 inch 4150 CMV barrel, mid length gas, 15 inch M-LOK rail. Part number 55616BBTUNG, UPC 736684145279.

What you get on the Andro Corp ACI-15 Bravo 5.56 Tungsten

The barrel is 16 inches of 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel with a QPQ nitride finish inside and out, cut 1:7. That twist rate handles the whole practical range of 5.56 NATO and 223 Remington factory ammunition, from 55 grain bulk up through the 77 grain match loads, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 under an A2 flash hider.

The Andro Corp ACI-15 Bravo 5.56 Tungsten runs a mid length gas system behind a .750 low profile gas block, which is the right choice on a 16 inch barrel. It lowers port pressure compared with a carbine length tube, which means less bolt speed, less wear and a softer push into your shoulder. This is the single biggest reason a mid length 16 inch AR shoots more pleasantly than the older carbine gas pattern.

The upper is 7075 T6 forged with T-markings and M4 feed ramps, the lower is 7075 forged, and both are finished in Cerakote tungsten rather than anodized. Inside is an M16 profile nitride bolt carrier group with a mil-spec lower parts kit, M4 stock and standard grip.

The handguard, the finish and what to expect

The 15 inch M-LOK free float handguard on the Andro Corp ACI-15 Bravo 5.56 Tungsten reaches nearly to the muzzle. Nothing contacts the barrel, so a loaded bipod or a barricade will not shift your zero, and there is room for a light, a hand stop and a sling point without crowding anything.

Cerakote is the part worth paying attention to on the Andro Corp ACI-15 Bravo 5.56 Tungsten. It is a ceramic coating applied over the aluminum rather than an oxide layer grown into it, so it resists salt, solvents and abrasion better than type 3 anodizing and it does not wear to silver at the edges the way a well used black rifle does.

One 30 round magazine comes in the box with the Andro Corp ACI-15 Bravo 5.56 Tungsten. There are no sights, and the flattop upper carries a full length Picatinny rail, so budget for a red dot or a low power variable and backup irons if you want them.

Andro Corp Industries backs the ACI-15 line with a lifetime warranty and publishes the full build sheet on the Andro Corp Industries product page. Quote part number 55616BBTUNG when you order, because the Bravo 16 is also sold in plain black and in flat dark earth and the tungsten grey is the one described here. If you want the same rifle in a bigger cartridge, the ACI-15 Bravo in 300 Blackout is the other end of the family, and you can browse the rest of our semi-automatic rifles as well.

Mid length gas on a 16 inch barrel is measurably softer shooting than the carbine gas pattern it replaces.

Cerakote holds up to sweat and wear better than anodizing, and it does not silver at the edges.

A 15 inch free float rail gives you the whole barrel for accessories without touching the barrel itself.

Forged mil-spec receivers mean every AR-15 part you already own drops straight in.

This is a first AR for someone who wants a rifle that lasts, and a sensible second one for a shooter who already owns a black carbine and wants something that does not look identical to it. Range work, a truck, a class, home defense: the Andro Corp ACI-15 Bravo 5.56 Tungsten covers all of it without needing anything replaced out of the box except an optic.
