Mauser TacOps Pk 22 LR Drum Pistol Overview
The TacOps Pk is a modern, compact rimfire pistol with a tactical look, built for plinking and training with plenty of ammunition on board. Its rails make it easy to add a red dot and a light, so it can mirror the setup of a centerfire pistol or carbine you already own.
Rails and Optics
The receiver carries a Picatinny rail for a red dot or flip-up sights, and the frame adds a lower rail for a light or laser. A small red dot is the quickest way to aim a pistol of this size and makes fast work of steel targets.
Magazines and Drum
A 22 round stick magazine handles everyday shooting, and a 110 round drum lets you shoot for a long time between reloads. Drums take patience to load and add weight, so many owners practice with the stick magazine and save the drum for fun days at the range.
Barrel and Frame
The 5 inch steel barrel has a black anodized finish, and the aluminum frame keeps weight manageable for one or two handed shooting. Recoil from 22 LR is very light, so follow up shots come quickly.
Pistol Rules
This is a handgun under federal law. Adding a shoulder stock would create a short barreled rifle, and adding a vertical foregrip can make it an NFA any other weapon, both of which require ATF registration first. We do not sell NFA items, so keep it in pistol form.
Why Shoot a Rimfire
A rimfire is the best tool there is for building skill. Low recoil and a quiet report let you focus on trigger control and follow through, and the low cost per round means you can practice often. Many experienced shooters keep a rimfire next to their centerfire guns for exactly that reason, and it is a great way to bring a new shooter into the sport.
Choosing Ammunition
Most rimfire semi-autos run best on high velocity round nose 22 LR, usually 36 to 40 grain loads. Try a few brands, because reliability and accuracy can change from one load to the next. Bulk packs keep practice cheap, which is the whole point of a rimfire.
Cleaning and Care
Rimfire ammunition burns dirty, so clean the breech face, chamber and extractor every few hundred rounds. A light coat of oil on moving parts is all most owners need. Store the pistol unloaded in a locked safe or case, with magazines and ammunition kept separate.
State Laws
Some states limit magazine capacity or certain features even on rimfire firearms. Check your state and local laws before you order. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
