Description
The Kel-Tec PR-3AT 10 Round is the capacity-compliant version of Kel-Tec’s rotating-barrel pocket 380, built for states that cap magazines at ten. It weighs 9.38 ounces, which is lighter still than the thirteen-round gun, and it does everything else exactly the same way.
That means a fixed internal magazine loaded from the top with stripper clips, a barrel that unlocks by rotating rather than tilting, and a 2.85-inch barrel in a frame small enough to genuinely disappear in a pocket. The Kel-Tec PR-3AT 10 Round is not a compromise version; it is the same design with a shorter magazine column.
Why the rotating barrel matters at this size
- The Kel-Tec PR-3AT 10 Round unlocks by rotating its barrel rather than tilting it, which lets the slide sit lower over your hand.
- A lower bore axis on a nine-ounce pistol turns muzzle rise from a flip into a push.
- The rotating lockup spreads the unlocking impulse over a longer arc, taking some of the snap out of a very light gun.
- A straighter feed path from a magazine sitting closer under the bore.
- Fewer parts riding the frame rails than most locked-breech designs in this class.

Loading, sights and daily handling
- The magazine is a top-loading design that accepts a stripper clip, so filling it does not mean fighting a follower with your thumbnail.
- One magazine ships in the box. Buy a second before you start carrying it.
- Fixed sights. There is no optic cut and nothing to zero.
- Polymer frame and polymer grip with molded texture and no separate panels to work loose.
- No ambidextrous safety and no drilled-and-tapped provision. This is a pocket gun, not a project.

380 ACP is a standardized cartridge, with pressure and dimensional limits published by SAAMI. Feed the Kel-Tec PR-3AT 10 Round ordinary brass-cased ammunition and it will not care whose name is on the box, but a nine-ounce pistol is more sensitive than a full-size gun to how hot a load runs, so find out what it likes before you trust it.
For practice, CCI Blazer Brass 95 gr FMJ is the cheap, clean-burning answer. For carry, run a box or two of Grizzly 90 gr JHP through it first, then load it and leave it.
If your state does not cap magazine capacity, the 13-round Kel-Tec PR-3AT is the same pistol with three more rounds for the same money. Elsewhere in the Kel-Tec range, the PR-57 in 5.7x28mm and the PR-5.7 Compact apply the same top-loading thinking at a larger size. In this caliber the obvious cross-shops are the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 and the Ruger LCP MAX.
Shipping note: our distributors will not direct-ship this model into Rhode Island. Everything ships to your FFL regardless, but if you are there the routing changes and we will tell you before we take the order.
Why the Kel-Tec PR-3AT 10 Round earns its place
- Ten rounds of 380 in a gun light enough to forget you are carrying.
- A rotating barrel that genuinely flattens recoil for the weight class.
- Stripper-clip loading, a small mercy that becomes a large one at the range.
- Nine and a third ounces, so it rides in a pocket holster without dragging a waistband.
- A compliant configuration that does not feel like a punishment for where you live.
Be straight with yourself about what 380 ACP does. It carries less energy than 9mm and it always will. What it buys is a gun this small and this light, and a gun you actually have on you beats one in a safe. If recoil, hand strength or slide manipulation is a real constraint, the Kel-Tec PR-3AT 10 Round is a sensible answer rather than a compromise.
Understand too that a sub-ten-ounce pistol kicks. The rotating barrel takes the edge off, but fifty rounds in one sitting will remind you what you are holding. Shoot it in short strings, learn the trigger, and carry it.
