Description
The Howa M1500 Hogue 6.5 Creedmoor puts the most popular long-range hunting cartridge of the last decade into a forged-steel Howa action with a HACT two-stage trigger and a pillar-bedded Hogue OverMolded stock in green.
6.5 Creedmoor in a Serious Action
The 6.5 Creedmoor earned its reputation on long, high-BC bullets, mild recoil and excellent barrel life. What it needs to deliver on that is a rifle capable of shooting to the cartridge’s potential. Howa’s M1500 has built exactly that reputation for decades, often under other companies’ names. The Howa M1500 Hogue 6.5 Creedmoor is the barreled action at its most straightforward, without the price of a premium badge.
Cold Hammer Forged Barrel
The 22-inch barrel is cold hammer forged, a process that hammers the steel around a mandrel to form the rifling while work-hardening the bore. It gives a longer service life and a more uniform interior than button rifling, and it is normally reserved for more expensive rifles. Twenty-two inches is a sensible balance for 6.5 Creedmoor: enough to reach useful velocity without turning the rifle into something awkward to carry.
HACT Two-Stage Trigger
The Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger is a true two-stage design. The first stage takes up slack under light pressure while you settle the crosshairs, and the second breaks cleanly at the wall. That is what precision shooters prefer, and it is rare at this price. On a cartridge chosen for accuracy, it matters more than almost any other feature.
Three-Position Safety
The three-position safety allows fire, safe with the bolt free, and safe with the bolt locked. Being able to unload with the trigger still blocked is a meaningful safety feature in the field, and cheaper rifles usually leave it out.
Pillar-Bedded Hogue Stock
The Hogue OverMolded stock bonds rubber permanently over a rigid skeleton, with aluminium pillars carrying the action screws. Pillars stop the stock from compressing under torque, which is the most common reason a synthetic-stocked rifle drifts off zero. Rubber grips well in wet or cold hands, and the green finish is less conspicuous in the field than black.
Recoil and Practice
6.5 Creedmoor recoils noticeably less than .270 or .308 while shooting flatter than either at distance. That makes it easier to spot your own impacts through the scope and far easier to practise with in volume. Ammunition is available everywhere and in a wide range of bullet weights, from light varmint loads to heavy match projectiles. The Howa M1500 Hogue 6.5 Creedmoor holds four in the magazine plus one chambered.

Who Should Buy It
This suits deer and antelope hunters, long-range practice shooters and anyone who wants one rifle that does both. The mild recoil makes it a strong choice for smaller-framed or recoil-sensitive shooters without giving up capability.
The Howa M1500 Hogue 6.5 Creedmoor ships without sights or a scope, so budget for optics and rings. It is also a standard-weight hunting rifle rather than an ultralight, and a synthetic stock will not appeal to buyers who want walnut.
Hunters counting ounces should compare a carbon-stocked mountain rifle, and anyone wanting a magnum cartridge for elk at distance should look at a 300 PRC in our catalog. Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred in accordance with federal and state law.
