Holosun SCRS Red MRS Solar Proven Rifle Sight

Description

The Holosun SCRS Red MRS Solar is Holosun’s self-charging tube sight with a red Multi-Reticle System. It pairs a fast circle-dot reticle for close-range work with a precise dot for distance, and its solar panel keeps the built-in cell charged so you can skip battery changes.

Holosun SCRS Red MRS Solar Overview

SCRS means Solar Charging Rifle Sight. Holosun rates the power reserve at up to 20,000 hours on setting 6, and daylight recharges it. The body is a 20mm-class tube that retailers list at about 2.5 ounces, riding on a removable riser that clamps to Picatinny. Clicks are 1 MOA with about 100 MOA of total adjustment. Note that Holosun’s own spec table for this model appears to repeat dimensions from a larger sight, so we only list figures that match the product.

Circle-Dot Speed

The MRS switches between a 2 MOA dot, a circle, or the circle and dot together. Holosun lists the circle as 65 MOA in its features and 32 MOA in its spec table. Either way, the circle-dot is the go-to setting for home defense and close drills because the ring snaps into view, while the dot alone is ideal for zeroing and accurate fire at 100 yards.

Classic Red

The 650nm red LED is the familiar choice for most shooters. It contrasts well against foliage and indoor backgrounds and draws little power, which helps a solar-charged sight hold its reserve. Brightness offers 12 settings including night vision levels, and an automatic mode adjusts to ambient light.

Solar Ownership Tips

The panel recharges the built-in cell in sunlight or bright indoor light. A rifle stored in a dark safe will slowly use the reserve, so set it near a window during regular maintenance. Shake Awake turns the reticle off when the rifle sits still and back on when it moves, stretching the charge between sunny days.

Mounting

The riser places the reticle at a lower 1/3 co-witness over standard AR-15 irons. Remove the riser and the 509T footprint allows low mounting on compatible plates for shotguns and rimfires. A Holosun magnifier at the same height drops in behind it for longer shots.

Trade-Offs

The built-in cell is not user replaceable and will slowly lose capacity over many years. The SCRS is an open tube, not an enclosed sight, so wipe both lenses after rain or dust. Our previous listing title said 22mm; Holosun describes a 20mm-class sight, which we have corrected here.

Ordering and Transfer

When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.

Safe Storage

Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
