Description
The Holosun SCRS Green MRS Solar combines Holosun’s solar-charged tube sight with a green Multi-Reticle System. You get a fast circle-dot for close work, a precise dot for distance, and a sight that recharges itself from daylight instead of eating coin cells.
Holosun SCRS Green MRS Solar Overview
The SCRS, short for Solar Charging Rifle Sight, uses a panel on top of the housing to charge a built-in cell, with Holosun rating the power reserve at up to 20,000 hours on setting 6. It is a compact 20mm-class tube that weighs about 2.5 ounces according to retailers and uses the same mounting pattern as the 509T pistol sight. Clicks are 1 MOA with about 100 MOA of total adjustment, and the green LED is very visible in daylight.
Multi-Reticle Options
Choose a 2 MOA dot, a circle, or the circle and dot together. Holosun’s feature text lists a 65 MOA circle while its spec table shows 32 MOA, so expect a large outer ring either way. The circle-dot shines for home defense, close-range drills and shotguns, while the plain dot is best for zeroing and shooting groups at 100 yards.
Solar Power, No Coin Cells
Daylight or bright indoor light keeps the internal cell charged, and Shake Awake shuts the LED off when the rifle is still, which stretches the reserve further. If the rifle lives in a dark safe for months, give the sight some light before you need it. Holosun describes the cell as non-removable; a few retailers list a CR2032, so treat that as a listing error.
Green Visibility
The 540nm green LED stands out against sunlit backgrounds and snow, and many shooters with astigmatism see it more crisply than red. Brightness has 12 settings including night vision levels, plus an automatic mode that reads ambient light so the reticle stays comfortable as conditions change.
Mount and Height
The included riser sets the reticle for a lower 1/3 co-witness with standard AR-15 irons. With the riser removed, the 509T footprint lets the sight sit on low-profile plates for shotguns and rimfires. Holosun magnifiers designed for this height pair cleanly if you want extra reach.
What to Know
A built-in rechargeable cell will gradually lose capacity over many years and is not user replaceable. Our previous title described a 22mm tube; Holosun calls the SCRS a 20mm-class sight, and we have corrected that here. For a carbine you want ready without battery chores, it is a smart, low-maintenance choice.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
